TEACHERS ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR AFFILIATED COLLEGES OF


RAJIV GANDHI PROUDYOGIKI VISHWAVIDYALAYA, BHOPAL
The objective of conducting Teachers Eligibility Test ( RGPV-TET ) for affiliated
colleges of RGPV is to identify qualified, meritorious and motivated candidates
for appointing as Assistant Professor in the colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy
and MCA.
a. The RGPV-TET will be conducted for joining into services of all affiliated
colleges of RGPV (Except Autonomous colleges declared by Govt. of
Madhya Pradesh) at the entry level appointment i.e. Assistant Professor in
the Faculty of Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, MCA, Sciences,
Management, Humanities.
b. Candidates who wish to join any of the affiliated colleges of RGPV in
Madhya Pradesh as an assistant professor shall take this examination.
The Teachers who are working as an assistant professor but not ratified by
the University at the present working institution shall also take this
examination.
c. The candidates who qualify this examination and fulfill the AICTE norms
will be eligible to appear for the interviews for Teachers selection in the
affiliated colleges of RGPV. The selected candidates henceforth will be
considered as the university approved Teacher.
d. Candidates who are already selected through University Selection Board
and presently working in the same institution or presently working in the
cadre of Associate Professor or Professor ratified by the University at the

Institution where presently working will be exempted from taking this


examination.
e. Candidate having seven or more publications in SCI listed journals will be
exempted from this examination.
f. NET qualified candidates in the relevant subject stream shall be exempted
from this examination.
g. The test will be conducted in various subject disciplines as listed in
Table-1. The question paper will have objective type multiple choice
questions which includes paper-I ( This paper will consist of two parts.
Part-A will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension,
divergent thinking and Part-B will be based on language comprehension )
and Paper-II will consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions from
the respective subject. There will be no negative marking.
h. Test will be conducted quarterly.
i. The question paper will be in English only.
j. Dates of examination will be notified by RGPV. Candidates will have to
apply online through RGPV portal.

Conditions of Eligibility
i.

B.E. / B.Tech. in the relevant branch of Engineering.

ii.

M.Pharma for Pharmaceutical Sciences.

iii.

MCA for Computer Applications

iv.

UGC norms for eligibility of assistant professor in Science, Humanities


(including languages) etc., will be followed.

v.

Candidates shall appear for RGPV-TET examination in their relevant


discipline as given at Table-1.

vi.

Candidates other than general category are required to mention their


Category in the online application form. Candidates may note that they
should satisfy the eligibility conditions with reference to the documents

such as UG/PG degree & certificates, category certificates In case their


ineligibility is detected by the RGPV TET agency at any stage, their
candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.
vii.

Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional. The mere


fact that an admission card has been issued to a candidate will not imply
that the university has finally accepted his/her candidature. Candidates
may note that candidature will be deemed final upon verification of
eligibility conditions.

Note: Candidates belonging to category SC, ST, OBC who claim fee exemption
must enclose attested Category certificate issued by competent authority along
with the hard copy of the application.
Mode of payment: As per RGPV instruction.
NOTE:

(i)

Fee submitted by any other mode like money order /Demand


draft/IPO etc. will NOT be accepted.

(ii)

Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.

3.

Scheme of Examination

The Test will consist of two papers Papers I and II. Both will consist of only
objective type questions. Test will be held in two separate sessions as under:

Paper-I
Part-A: Aptitude: shall be of general nature, intended to assess the
teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed
to test aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking of
the candidate.
Part-B: English Language Comprehension: shall consist of English Language
Comprehension skills, Interpersonal skills including communication
skills, Passages from English language, Grammatical ability.
Paper II : Subject: This paper will consist of 50 objective type questions from
the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2
marks.
The detailed instructions for filling up the on line application form will be
uploaded on RGPV website portal ( www.rgpv.ac.in ). It may be noted that
instructions to candidates will not be sent to the candidate by post.

Procedure & Criteria for Declaration of RGPV-TET Result

This will comprise the following steps for considering a candidate for the eligibility for
assistant professorship:
Step 1: The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in the Part- A
and Part-B of Paper-I, II and Paper-III as stated below:

Step 2: A merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the marks
obtained in paper II only amongst the candidates who have scored minimum
qualifying marks and these candidates (in each subject and in each category)
will be declared as RGPV-TET qualified.
It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by RGPV-TET is final
and binding.

Syllabus
Syllabus will be notified by RGPV time to time.

6.

General Instructions
i.

The candidates must read the conditions of eligibility carefully and must satisfy
themselves regarding their eligibility for the Test before filling the online
application and submit the printout of online application forms to their respective
test centers.

ii.

RGPV TET center may change the examination center (s) or date of examination
without assigning any reason.

iii.

No TA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the Test.

iv.

Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.

7.

Test Centers -

The four RGPV-TET test centers where examination will be conducted are given below.
The candidate can select any one Test Center for RGPV-TET examination.

NOTE: This is only an eligibility test. However, the recruitment shall


be subject to minimum qualification requirement as per AICTE
norms.
