Subject : Risk Management Fee


The Exchange currently does not levy any charges for providing the services of risk
management although substantial amount of expenditure is incurred in maintaining
necessary infrastructure for facilitating risk management for the clients who hold end-
of-day positions on the Exchange, every day. The Risk Management, clearing/
settlement system at the Exchange ensures mark-to-market transfers each day,
effectively ensuring that the gains/losses are realized without individual counter-party
risks.
Trading and Clearing Members are hereby informed that in terms of the Byelaws, Rules
and Regulations of the Exchange, it has now been decided to levy a Risk Management
Fee of Rs. 5 per lakh on the value of every fresh overnight open interest position
created in contracts of those commodities categorized as List A commodities
(Annexed).
The fresh open position value will be computed daily based on contract (expiry) wise
incremental open positions created in client / proprietary code under each member.
The Risk Management Fee will be collected as Exchange dues.
The circular will be applicable with effect from October 15, 2014.
