Is it really more fun in the Philippines?

Issues concerning the Philippines continue to emerge as they converge and form into a
societal catastrophe and diverge its parts along the path of social progress.

Our country having a democratic government has been faced with many dilemmas testing
how it can stand the playful game of time. Corruption is one of the most prevalent issues that
contributed how the Filipinos suffer today. The people in the government has been always rude
in handling money of the people. They have been too abusive in their power such that they can
influence people to be silent on what they are doing. Yet all the while even they are already in
hot seat, they still pretend to know nothing. Just in the case of the Napoles Scam, lawmakers are
pinpointed already for their misconduct but still they tend to make their names away from that
issue though pieces of evidence already pointing on to them. The thirst for power has pushed
these leaders to get more from the government because they want to sustain their power among
others. When one has gotten nothing that is the time to use Crab Mentality. They pull down
their detractors or even their friends just to outrank them for their own benefits. This is how the
Philippine government works. I guess, the Philippines ranks number one in this sense. That is
why our country has been one of the most corrupt countries of the world. What a mess!

Because of this corruption issue, many problems of our nation are not properly addressed.
Poverty is on the rise. The supposedly allotted budget for the people are only used by few
thereby depriving them their chance of living. Hence, they created a job for them in the streets
being pick pocket people, drug dealers, prostitutes or even baby selling. They are very much
creative in this sense that they have created jobs for them yet very much deteriorating in their
moral way of living. What did the government do? Sigh. Just promises.

Minors are the most vulnerable part of our population. They easily get hooked with what
interest them. Hence, they are victims of the societal force of prostitution. They engage
themselves into sex with no knowledge about it. With this, many of our young people get STDs
or worst AIDS. We have been a nation of many laws but were not properly implemented. Sex
Education in the country is still new to many of its people. The Reproductive Health Bill or Law
has been always shaken by intruders but this should not be. Our people need that for their own
protection. Sex Education must be taught alongside with its consequences for us to be aware of
this issue. If there is no proper information about this, we will still be 1, 000, 000 light years
away from the modern civilization.

Our society needs to act on this matter because if not, we will be a country of nowhere. If
the society we live in does not guarantee a safer way of living, for sure its people will dwell in to
what they know is beneficial to them. Our freedom would be at risk and our families will be
ruined.

Our nation has been always a family-oriented one. Our neighboring countries admire this
quality that we have but an irony of it is, our Filipino Families has been shaken by different
issues like having an extended family, in other words another family. We value the sacredness
of family but due to circumstances many now are having kabit which destroys the respect and
love of the family members. Our native values have gone out from us but tis must not be the
case.
The church has been one of the many institutions that deviates to the idea of
contraception. This has been always their position regarding contraception. If we look into our
population now, it continuously booming and this is a problem to the government. When the
population is high, the government cannot give all what the people need. Thus, it tells us to have
family planning whether it be natural or using contraceptives. But the church opposes this
because it deprives the chance of every being to live. But my question is, if the church does not
like the idea of contraception, can the church help the government provide the basic needs of the
people considering the big money they have? Can the church give shelter to the people by
donating portions of the church property? Can the church provide more work for the people in
case the population would grow more?

Many things are living in contradictions in our society but they should act as one in
promoting the general welfare of the people. I may be considered as young but these are my
thoughts regarding the issues of this country.

Is it really fun in the Philippines? I dont know the answer of this.
