Objective:
To design an application for a college that acts as central server for multitude of information
relevant for students and professors.
Usefulness:
This app would help the students and professors to access the information in more convenient way.
Market Potential and Competitive Advantage:
1) There are many colleges in country which still doesnt have centralized information network
which can also cater to cloud. So this app could be 1 stop solution.
2) Currently the systems present in colleges is either too tedious or manual .This leads
information miscommunication or information gap between college authorities and
students or professors. So this app preloaded with all recent technologies would help them
in a tremendous manner.

Key Risks & Mitigation Approach:
1) Server maintenance team and whole server maintenance process may incur high investment
up front. Management should be taken in full confidence and the utility of this product
should be very clear to them. Proper cost estimation should be presented to them before
going ahead with this kind of project.

2) College should have or need to build proper IT infrastructure like seamless wi-fi. This also
would involve some large investment. Same need to be well addressed.
3) Resistance to the change can be a big risk especially from administrative team because less
man power would be required after successful implementation of this kind of project. So,
seamless movement of workforce in suitable alternative roles should be properly handled.
Cost Benefit Analysis:
1) Though app development, maintenance would require some good investments up front, in
the long run, less man power requirement would adjust those investments earlier.
2) Colleges connectivity with other institution and especially communication would definitely
get a boost after implementation of such project. This would help the college to make
collaboration with other colleges in organizing more student, faculty exchange kind of
programs. This kind of programs actually enhance the opportunity of more revenue
earnings.
3) With the enhancement of this project, college would be able to offer more for distance
education, satellite courses. These technology driven platforms not only would increase
college visibility in the fast growing education sector of India but also bring more
opportunity for revenue earnings.
Opportunity Cost in terms of non-implementation of the project:
Basically all the benefit mentioned in the above analysis would be complete opportunity cost for the
college in case of non-implementation. With the more investment in education sectors, more
presence of foreign universities, Indian education sector is likely to become more competitive in the
coming years. Technology is going to play huge role in further growth of educational sectors.
Institutes with better technology managed, would enjoy competitive advantage. All these can be
regarded as opportunity cost for non-implementation of this project.
