As 2014 draws to a close, I cannot express how deeply privileged I feel to lead such a dynamic, inclusive and
successful learning community.
I am grateful to the amazing staff at Tootgarook Primary School who have continued to nurture and personalise
the learning for all of our students. As your children have received their reports, I hope you will have a strong
sense of the tireless support that has been extended to each child to ensure they have achieved to their
potential.
There have been many wonderful events throughout the year. Never a day goes by without something special
happening at the school. We couldnt provide all of these opportunities without the fantastic support of our
parents I would like to thank all of you who have been able to support the school throughout the year. We
understand how busy you are as parents and we are grateful for the time your willingly give to support the
school.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our terrific office team, who provide such wonderful
administrative support to all families and visitors to the school Fran Parsons and Judy Stephens.
Finally, I would like to recognise the significant contributions of Simone Royle, our School Council President.
Simone has been such a tireless advocate for the school for many years. Her support is so many different areas
has been invaluable! Thank You Simone!
My sincerest wishes for a great Christmas and a relaxing summer break to all students and families. We already
have lots planned for 2015, not to mention kick starting off the year with a School Mini Bus. How lucky we all
are to be part of such an amazing school!
2015 PLANNING & ORGANISATION
At this stage, we enter in 2015 with 247 students enrolled across 11 classes.
All students visit their new teachers & classmates tomorrow in their allocated classrooms for 2015.
END OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS
Please note that all students will be dismissed at 1:30pm on Friday 19th December to begin their summer
holidays.
The final assembly for the year will get underway at around 1:00pm on Friday where we will farewell Mrs
Louise Bruin into semi retirement and Mrs Jan Prossor on Long Service Leave for Term 1. Students of the
Term will be presented with their certificates and winners of the Xmas raffle will be announced. All students
will then be dismissed from the Community Hall.
School resumes for all students on Thursday 29th January.

Parents who hold a Health Care Card need to present their card for photocopying on Book Selling Day- it
must be valid as of that day - January 28th - The school allowance in 2015 for Gr Prep Gr 6 students is $105,
with parents needing to pay $65.00 on the day.
The school DOES NOT have Eftpos facilities so please endeavour to have the correct money!
Tootgarook Market is on Saturday 27th December and January 24th
Helpers are needed for an hour or so on these days. If you are able to help
please let the office know by 1.30pm tomorrow. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank all of our helpers throughout the year and wish you all
a safe and happy holiday season. Thankyou to Darren Walker, Amanda Reeve,
Scott Gathercole, Elizabeth Taralaikov, Janine Wallace, Anthea Williams Lisa
Bateman, Alana Archer, Robert Magnano, Aleisha Syke, Steven Price, Kerry + Kayley

Prep B Mrs Bos Aidan Gathercole well done on all your achievements this year. You
should be very proud, all of your hard work has been worth it.
Prep P- Mrs Prossor Kaiden Woulfe for his hard work all year and always being happy
and friendly to his classmates.
1H Mrs Hughes Tarni Blewett as voted for by her peers for being a kind, helpful and
supportive classmate. Tarni always tackles tasks with a smile and an I can do it attitude.
Congratulations and thank you Tarni.
1P Miss Perkins Jordan Carver- You are always happy to help and always come to
school smiling and organised. You have worked well this year and should be very proud of
your achievements. Congratulations on reading 325 nights, you have proved that our
home reading program is worthwhile with your reading progress this year. Well Done
Jordan!
2B Mrs Baird Ella Giarrusso as voted by her classmates for being respectful,
friendly and for helping others. Well done Ella you always do your best and are actively
involved in all areas of school life.
2J Mrs Johnstone Jennifer Dingwall as voted for by her classmates for being
mindful, caring and fun. Congratulations Jennifer on all your efforts and achievements
this year.
3/4T Miss Withers Charlee Russell as voted by her peers for always being friendly
and caring to others. Charlee always tries her best in all school work. She always puts
others first and has improved in all academic areas. A pleasure to teach.
3/4W Ms Walton Taya Lobo as voted by her classmates. Taya has a very happy
nature and is a caring friend to everyone. She always works very hard and has achieved a
lot this year. Well done Taya!
4/5S Miss Staley - Alayha Roy as voted by her peers for helping others, being a great
friend and following the RICH school values. Congratulations Alayha on making
tremendous changes to both your attitude and work ethic this year. You certainly deserve
to be our Student of the Term!
5Q Miss Quintin Skye Johnson as voted by her peers for being a friendly and caring
classmate Skye has confidently taken part in all areas of the Curriculum. She has a
positive attitude and is an asset to our grade.
6B Mrs Bruin - As voted by her peers. She has been a great friend to everyone in 6B this
year and always makes an effort to include others in activities. You have been the glue
that has kept us altogether and made 6B such a fantastic class to be a part of. You are a
legend Alex McIlfatrick and we will all miss you next year.
On Tuesday night we celebrated the Graduation of our 2014 grade 6 students as they prepare for the next stage of
their educational journey at their respective secondary schools.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Louise Bruin, Christine Young and staff members who contributed to the
preparations to ensure this important occasion was a memorable one for our graduating students.
