COMPANY BACKGROUND
BLM offers comprehensive, customized, and scalable solutions to banking and technology
management objectives. They have been a leading provider of end-to-end branch technology
solutions for financial institutions for more than 25 years.
As one of the largest distributors of banking equipment in the United States, BLM is an
independent resource offering unbiased analysis of hardware and service options. Their
customers in financial institutions rely on them to provide the comprehensive information
needed to make informed decisions about technology investments.
BLM employs approximately 65 people in four locations, strategically placed throughout the
U.S. Headquarters operations resides in Plymouth MN, with sales office/service depots located
in Irvine CA, Chesterfield MO, and Richmond VA.
In 2008, BLM Technologies became a 100% employee owned (ESOP) company.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the President / CEO, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a key member of the
executive leadership team and as such, will be responsible for providing cross-organizational
strategic and operational direction for the company. He/She will support the President and
provide influence/leadership in all areas, including but limited to administrative, financial, and
operational functions.
The COO is responsible for establishing and maintaining an operational environment enabling
the achievement of excellence in all business, operational and performance objectives. This
includes sales, new business growth, reputation enhancement, profitability, and the retention
of key customers and strategic partners. The COO will work closely with the President to
establish company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and revise as appropriate in
response to changes in internal or external conditions. The COO will drive and enhance
administrative and operational functions through various programs, establish clear
responsibilities and procedures for attaining company goals, and consistently review
operational, customer satisfaction, and financial statements to evaluate and report on goals
and objectives. He/She will also work closely with the President to continue enhancing a
culture of passionate commitment toward meeting customer expectations, Board expectations
and internal business objectives.
The COO will have 3 direct reports, including a VP of Repair Services, a VP of Project
Management and a Manager of Support Services. Overall staff is approximately 40
permanent employees but also includes various subcontractors that can total up to 150 at any
given time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with President, senior leadership team and relevant staff in establishing long
and short-term business strategies and execution plans to meet and exceed company
objectives
Assists in the development and communication of the company mission, vision, values,
and overall strategic direction.
Oversees functional activities including but not limited to security, contract negotiation,
quality assurance, inventory logistics management, Depot facility management, talent
acquisition, service delivery which includes third party partnerships, business
development, financial project modeling and execution, and all operational elements.
Proactively engages and partners with customers to understand and support current and
long-term needs, and deliver quality products and services to BLMs established
performance metrics, and the clients complete satisfaction.
Drives the culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensures the staff ethics,
productivity, and morals are maintained at the highest level and consistent with company
value system.
Champions the company values and provides an excellent example for others in the
organization.
Manage overall performance, profit and loss, and day-to-day operations of the business
across multiple functional business areas and facilities.
Leads in the development of and the presentation of assigned functional area operating
budgets for review and approval by the President.
Ensures that execution plans and procedures are documented, communicated,
understood, and executed by the department management leadership/teams.
Analyzes operating and service delivery results verses approved plans and objectives
and take immediate corrective action as appropriate.
Ensure soundness of all assigned departments organizational structures.
Establish and deploy plans for employee acquisitions and retention of key personnel.
Ensure that all government laws and regulations are adhered to and that the company
functions in a compliant and ethical manner.
Along with other executives, represents the company in relationships with customers,
suppliers, contractors, and strategic partners.

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess a bachelors degree in business administration or
equivalent with at least 15 years of related experience and ten years plus in a leadership
position. Previous experience in a key leadership role, with executive oversight and reporting,
recognized P&L responsibility, strategic leadership experience a must.
Process and logistics management experience working in the service delivery industry is
ideal. Previous experience managing third-party vendors, along with developing complex
labor models associated with long and short-term project goals is important. This individual
must also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, possess a strong
understanding of opportunity versus cost models.
It is vital the COO be a results-oriented individual who has the ability to adapt well to everchanging priorities. Certified project management experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION
The compensation for this position is highly competitive and consists of a base salary,
management bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits program including the ESOP
plan.
