design&buildcompetitionforexecutionofCityStadiuminLublin.Aresultofthis
collaborationwasafootballstadiumwithacapacityofabout15400numberedseats,
meetingtherequirementsofUEFAandPZPNforCategoryIIIstadiums.

MORE PROJECTS

ThepropertywaslocatedontheBystrzycariverside,onalmost19acreparcelofliquidated
industrialfacility(theoldsugarfactory).
Intheareaoutsidethemainobjectofthestadiumarealsotwofullsizetrainingpitches.
Infrontofthestadiumthereisaparkingforapprox.1,000carsand20buses,including
placesfordisabledpeople.Atthegrandstandthereareparkingspacesforplayers,VIP
guests,pressrepresentatives,activistsandemployees.
ThemainentrancetotheVIPcomplexislocatedonthewestside.

Theprojectwasbasedonthefunctionalutilityprogram,butduringthedesignprocess,asa
resultofcollaborationwiththeclientandcontractor,solutionsfortheimplementationof
commercialfunctionswereintroduced.Thepropertywasdesignednotjustforfootball
competitions,butwillbeabletohostotherculturaleventsandbecomeanimportantsports
andrecreationcentre.
Duetotheperipherallocationofthestadium,andinaccordancewiththerequirementsof

thecontractingauthority,thebuildingmayoperateandofferitsservicesnotonlyduring
largeevents.Intheeasternpartofthegrandstandtherearecommercialhousingshops,
cafesandaspathatwillallowpartialfundingoftheobject.
Furthermore,manyroomsandspacesaredesignedtoperformroleofserviceduringthe
eventsofmatchplaytheeventsandtobeabletohireandraiserevenuecontracting.
Organizationofeventsonthefieldwillbepossiblewithgrasslandsprotectivesystem.
Duetoitslocationitwasadesignchallengetocreateanobjectthatwillbeeasilyvisible
fromadistance.Designedfacademakesthebuildingilluminatedblockwhichisa
distinctivelandmark.

Theelevationwasdesignedintheformoflongitudinalstripsofmetalpanels(witha
relativelylargeperforations)girdingthebuilding.
Themaingrandstandislocatedonthewestsideofthestadium.Thisistheheartofthe
stadiumwherethemainsupportingfeaturesaresituated.
InthecentralzonethereisrepresentativetwostoreyhallentranceforVIPfans,thatcan
bealsoalobbyforanoffice/conferencecenter,exceptmatchdays,aswellasthe
entranceforthepress.

Entrancesforplayersarelocatedsymmetricallyonbothsidesofthehall.Thegroundfloor
isusedmainlyforplayerssupportingfunctionssuchaslockerrooms,gymsandtraining
facilities.

At+1levelthereareroomsforjournalists,includingconferenceroomandworkrooms.At
journalistsdisposalisalsothehighestusablefloorwherethereare200commentators
positions.

Thespaceunderthenorthernandsoutherngrandstandisdedicatedtotheneedsofthe
fans.Thatswherediningoptionsandtoiletsare.Thesesurfacesareintegratedwiththe
outersquare.Theresnoclosedfacadeandareanextensionoftheentrancesquare.Inthe
remainingstandsviewerssupportingfeaturesarelocated,suchastoilets,barsorfirstaid.
