Ed Conley,Don Grecoand ChuckYeo reallyworkedhard
keepingour club nightsgoing.We had membersthat
workedhard,bringinggoodies,sellingdangles,coordinating
dances,runningfor the board,hostingworkshops,mailing
the newsletter,and doingthe manythings necessaryto
keepthe club running.To all o{ you a hugeThank You for
all your help.We also lost many Friends,Lovers,and
Membersthis year who we will alwaysremember.

fofiunateenoughto attendreally got to
danceto a sensationalcaller. At this ANGEL ISL,/IND FOARTH of JULY PICNIC
DanceAnna Damiani and John Conley were presentedwith
honorarylifetime memberships.Congratulationsto both of you. This year we are actuallyhaving our Fourth of July picnic on
the fourth. Ron Maskerwill be calling and coordinatingthis
trip to Angel lsland. This is alwaysa really specialtrip and is
ORANGE BASIC 1995CLASS lots offun, sun,and dancing.

The new classis just startingand will officially begin on May I .

CONVENTION
The annualconventionof IAGSDCTMwill be held in Chicago
overthe MemorialDay weekend.This shouldbe quitea
weekend. Anyone who has beento a conventionwill know to
expectand thosewho are going for the first time really havea
treat in storefor them. Besidesthe dances,workshops;special
tips, therewill be exhibitions,Honky Tonk QueenContestand
the annualIAGSDC meeting. Also at the hosthotel,the
ChicagoHyatt Regency,will be the InternationalMr. Leather
contest.
PRE PARADE DANCE
WEBKBND IN THE WINE COUNTRY
RussK. is arrangingfor us to have a dancingweekendin
Yountville. This will be at a private home and will require
sleepingbags. It will probably quite rustic,but shouldbe a lot
of fun. This will probably be the only retreatthat WSD will be
havingthis year.

Five and Lh years ago, when I learned to do my
first allemande left, I had no idea I would rise to
the lofty heights of becoming Grand High
Pooh-Bah, sorry, I
mean Administrator
of WSD. Square
Dancing has brought
many wonderful
things to my life and
l'm happy to have the opportunity to give back
some of what I have received.
I speak for everyone when I say Thank You to
our outgoing board members for all of your hard
work, and a special thank you to Gary for
everything you've given of yourself to help make
Western Star an enjoyable club for everyone.
And with our board members who are here for
another year and with the addition of a couple of
new faces, it loola like a fun year ahead.
And speaking of fun... our current
Mainstream classwill be honored with a special
Graduation Dance Friday November 17th. There
will be a Buffet Potluck starting at 7 PM and
dancing for all at 7:30. (admission $5) I
encourage all of you to come on down to EVRC
and cheer on our newest class.
Our friends in Diablo Dancers are having their
"Follow Your Neighbor to the Christmas Ball"
Saturday December 2nd in Pleasant Hill with
Mike DeSisto calling. And since I'm on the
subject of holidays... don't forget to mark your
calendar for our annual Christmas Parry and gift
exchange (\'ou know the rules) Wednesday Dec.
