Course Overview
Seismic data, in particular 3-D seismic data, are main player of the petroleum
industry. It provides subsurface images and other information that may be used
by Geoscientists and engineers to identify and effectively drain hydrocarbon
reservoirs. The class provides hands on experience in the structural, stratigraphic
interpretation and 3D modeling of seismic reflection data.
Techniques covered include: well log to seismic ties, contour maps, and
interpretation of 2D and 3D data, seismic inversion (pre and post stack),
Petrophysical and facies distribution in addition to volumetric and uncertainty
analysis. An overview of the effects of seismic acquisition and processing on
interpretation is also provided.
Upon completion of this training course, participants will:

have acquired a basic tool set and workflow for interpretation

touch on certain aspects of acquisition and processing.

understand the basic tools when preparing for interpretation

include synthetic seismograms, seismic modeling, and velocity data

learn different methods for depth conversion.

know 2D & 3D seismic visualization and interpretation.

have knowledge of other topics, e.g., seismic attributes,

amplitude variation with offset (AVO/AVA) and time-lapse
methods, Post stack inversion.

3D Modeling techniques and uncertainty analysis

Volumetrics and uncertainty analysis
