thingsthatsurprisedmewasthattheyhadseparatetraincarsforthemen
andwomenhere,althoughtheydohavesomecoedcarsaswell.

ThenwewenttotheDadarflowermarket.Intheflowermarketwewatched
thevendorsmakevariousgarlandsforNewYears.

NextwewenttoDhabiGhatwhichisthelargestoutsidelaundryservicein
theworld!Apparently100%oftheworkerstherearemale,andallofthe
clothingishandwashedanddried.WhatIfoundthemostlysurprisingis
thatalltheclothsarereturnedtotheirrightfulownerwithoutanytagsor
identificationorlabels.

AlthoughwedidnotstopwedrovebytheFlorafountainwhichisabsolutely
beautiful!ThenextstoponthetourwastheOvalMaidiwhichisanopen
parktothepublicthatismostcommonlyusedforplayingcricket.On
averagethereareapproximately56gamesgoingonatthesametime.
Afterthatwewentto"Chimanlals"whichisawonderfullittleshopthat
specializesinhomemadepapercardsandcrafts.Someofwhichinclude
bookmarks,decorations,weddinginvitationsandmuchmuchmore!Thisis
theplacewereFernandoandImanagedtogetafewsouvenirsforour
friendsandfamily.

ShortlyafterthatwemadeourwaytotheSt.ThomasCathedral,whichwas
abeautifulCatholicchurchwas200yearsold!Thestatuesandengravings
throughoutthechurchweresointricuteanddetailed.

WetookaminibreakfromthetourandwentintoanIndiaStarbuckswhich
wassoreallycool!Itwasreallyinterestinghowthemenudifferedfrom
America.
AsweresumedthetourwewenttotheVictorialTerminals(VT)justtoget
getaquickglimpseofthehustleandbustlefortheafternooncommute.In
indiaitiscustomthatyourfamilywouldmakeyourfoodandsenditina
lunchboxcalledaTiffin.ThenpeoplecalledtheDabbawalawhowould
pickthesetuffinboxesupfromyourown(againtheydothiswithouttheuse
oftagsoranyforofidentificationliketheydoinDhobiGhet)withthe
expectionofanumberprintedonthefrontandtheywoulddelieverittoyou
aroundlunchtime.Thenonceyouhavecompletedyourlunchthe
Dabbawalawouldreturnpickupemptytiffinboxesandreturnittoyour
home.

Thenwetookanotherbreakonthetourtohavelunchatapopularrestaurant
hereinMumbaicalledBrijannia.Thefoodwasabsoultlydelicous!We
hadBomabyDuck,Dal(Lentilsauce)andChickenBerryPulao.Andto
drinkwehadalimesoda.

InIndiaacommondrinkofthecultureisfreshlimesodawhichcontains
freshlysqueezedlimewithabitofsoda(seltizerwater).Thetasteofthe
drinkisbestdescribedasafizzylimeadeinAmerica.

ItwasthenthatwemadeourwaytotheGatewaytoIndia.Thisisthegateto
theborderofIndia.NotfarfromtherewewereabletoseetheTajMahal
hotel.UnforuntelywewerenotabletoseetheactualTahMahalbecauseit
islocatedinDelhi(whichisapproxiamtely3hoursbyplanefromMumbai).

AfterthatnFernandoandIwalkedaroundMarineDrive,otherwiseknown
asNarimanpointwhichisfairlyclosetoChowpattybeach.Asthetour
cametoaclosewebrieflydrovebyboththeHajiAli(whichisamosqueon
thesead)andthesealink.

Throughouttheturwetookmanymanypicturestodocumentour
discoveriesandinadditionwewereabletocaputureplentyofBrollfootage
forourdocumentaryusingourcamcorderandtheGoProsilver.

Thenafterrestingforacoupleofhoursafteralongbuteventfulday
Shakhar,Moira,Fernandoandmyselfwentouttodinnerwith15ofMoiras
friendsataniceItalianrestuarnatcalledBaliVillageCafe.WhichiswhreI
hadthemostamazinglobsterwithRisotto!

ThenwehadaawesomeNewYearsparty!
