Double barrel knockout vessel:

Double barrel knockout vessel:
Vertical crubber
Pressure control valve

1. First Double barrel knockout vessel (DBKV):

From lines mixture of gas, water and crude oil comes into double barrel knockout vessel. In
double barrel knockout vessel, there are two barrels, each barrel have their own gauge bars which shows
the pressure inside those barrels. There is a liquid sensor attach with it which the level of liquid inside the
gas present in the barrel. There is also a pressure control valve (PCV) connected with the bottom barrel.
When the incoming mixture comes in the DbKV, the gas goes in the upper barrel and all the liquid goes
in the bottom barrel and the liquid sensor shows the level of liquid in the barrel. when the level of the
liquid increases from the specified range, the PCV detects it and it opens the valve automatically and the
liquid is drained.
Now we almost have dry gas but in this state, it also contains some of the liquid.

2. Second Double barrel knockout vessel (DBKV):

Now that mixture coming out of the first DBKV is goes into the second DBKV. All the process is same as
in the first DBKV.
There is also a Flair valve at the top of the DBKV and it is used for the removal of extra air/pressure of
gas and then that goes into to Flair line and burns outside.
The gas comes out of this becomes more dry than the first stage but it also has some part of the liquid.

3. Vertical scrubber/vertical knockout vessel:

Now the output of second DBKV enters in the vertical crubber. It also contains a liquid sensor.

When the gas enters in crubber, the gas goes in the upper portion of the crubber due to its light weight and
the liquid goes into the bottom portion of the crubber.
The liquid sensor senses the liquid and when it exceeds from the specified volume, it is taken out
manually.
Now the gas comes out of this becomes drier than earlier.

4. Pressure control valve (PCV):Now the output from the vertical crubber is given to sale line after passing from Bypass-valve and orifice
meter.
One end of PCV is connected with vertical crubber through pipe and the other end of PCV is connected
with Fuel Gas Scrubber through another pipe.

5. Fuel gas Scrubber:The output from the PCV is given to fuel gas scrubber and it also contains the liquid level detector.
In this, the gas goes in upper portion of the scrubber due to light weight and the liquid remains in the
lower portion. When the level of the liquid increases from the specified range, the PCV detects it and it
opens the valve automatically and the liquid is drained.
The output from the fuel gas scrubber is almost 90% dry gas and is given to the compressor, generator
and messes.
