INTRO during song: My name is Micala Behrens and welcome to Alls
Fair in Love and War. Tonight you will hear a variety of songs, all about
fighting for love, finding love, and losing love, because after all, love is
a battlefield.
Patter: Im currently enrolled as a college student, and I was sitting in
my Communications theory class last semester. We were talking about
a particular theory, the Expectancy Violation Theory. This Theory
basically states that we all have expectations, and when they are
violated either positively or negatively it can impact our relationship
with the person. So Im sitting in class and Im like this is why Im
single. Because I have really high expectations. Now most people here
would agree that they have high expectations. Its not our fault Disney
raised us this way. The princes are all tall and handsome, and either
strong or charming or adventurous. So in real life when my
expectations are violated, Im like okay bye. Then Im single and my
friends and family joke that I will end up being the crazy cat lady. And
then Im binge eating ice cream on my couch watching How I Met Your
Mother on Netflix. But for my fellow crazy cat ladies, there is hope.

Patter: My friend and I were getting food and hanging out, and
somehow we started talking about this one guy we both had previously
talked to. I was giving her the details on what had happened
between us, when we started discovering similarities between our
stories. We realized that he had used the exact same lines and moves
on us. My personal favorite was that when asked to describe his
perfect girl, he would change the physical qualities to match the girl he
was currently into. So for me he said tall and redhead and for her he
said short and brunette. I would say something and she would go OMG
me too and she would say something and I would be like no way! It
was a movie moment and I seriously felt like I was in John Tucker Must
Die. I didnt enact revenge, but I cant deny that I thought about it
once or twice.
