MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 075-2014

REQUESTING HON. JOEY SARTE SALCEDA, GOVERNOR, PROVINCE OF ALBAY TO
DONATE ONE MILLION (PhP1,000,000.00) PESOS TO AUGMENT THE FUNDS FOR THE 2014
LONGGANISA FESTIVAL OF GUINOBATAN, ALBAY (AUGUST 1-16, 2014).

WHEREAS,
the Municipal Government of Guinobatan will be hosting, for its second
consecutive year, the Longganisa Festival, named after the local product listed under the
Department of Trade and Industry's "One Town, One Product" program;
WHEREAS,
the Longganisa Festival is one of the highlights of the year in the
municipality, is celebrated along with the feast of the Our Lady of the Assumption, our patron saint,
and is one of the means that this local government expects to boost the tourism industry in the
municipality;
WHEREAS,
during the celebration, a number of visitors and balikbayans are expected
to join in. Moreover, a number of activities will be conducted and participated in by various
residents of the municipality as well as visitors from neighboring municipalities/cities, which
includes, parades, sports, dancing, singing, and beauty competitions, among others;
WHEREAS,
the success of this celebration lies, foremost, in the availability of funds for
the proper implementation of the said activities. The budget allocated for the purpose, however, is
found to be insufficient to fully implement all the activities. This, we now seek from the Honorable
Governor, whom we believe to understand our sentiments and who is one of the promoters of the
tourism industry in the Province of Albay;
WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in

session assembled, to request as it hereby requests Hon. Joey Sarte Salceda, Governor, Province
of Albay to Donate One Million (PhP1,000,000.00) Pesos to Augment the Funds for the 2014
Longganisa Festival of Guinobatan, Albay (August 1-16, 2014).
RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Honorable Joey
Sarte Salceda, and such other concerned offices/agencies, for their information and appropriate
action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY on motion of Honorable Councilor Ricky S. Matza, and duly
seconded by the members present this 16 th day of June, 2014 during their 21st Regular Session.
