Description

A hot poured sealing compound based on a combination of synthetic resins and

coal-tar. When installed into horizontal expansion and construction joints it provides
a flexible seal with resistance to fuel spillage and mineral oils.

Uses

Igas-K is used in particular for the sealing joint of concrete pavement. Where fuel
resistance is required, such as :
Aircraft hardstandings
Parking aprons and hangars
Concrete roads and parking areas
Multi storey car parks
Re-fuelling areas
Stores for fuel oils

Advantages

Igas-K possesses the following beneficial properties:

Good adhesion without primer.
Remains flexible at low temperatures
Excellent resistance to grease, oil and fuels
Unaffected by de-icing salts
Resist attack from micro-organisms
Long Lasting control of slump loss
Better surface finish
Chloride free- does not attack reinforcement

Joint Configuration

Minimum joint depth = 10 mm

Maximum joint width = 30 mm
Minimum joint width = 10 mm
Width : depth ratio = 1:1 to 1:1.5 for expansion joints;
1:1 to 1:2 for construction and construction joints.

Instructions for Use

Surface Preparation
Heating

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all loosely adhering particles.
Priming is not required
Igas-K should be heated in controlled oil bath to a temperature of 150oC - 160oC.
(Note: Do not heat with direct flame)

Application

After heating, installation is carried out by the melter-pourer and for small areas with
a lipped bucket.

Cleaning

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Colma-Cleaner.

Limitations

Do Not Use for joints in bituminous paving.

Not suitable for contact with drinking water.
