I.

Objectives
A. Focus Skill:
Draw-out the theme of the novel that inanimate objects may sometimes come
to life, they can eat up all your time and money and might kill you if they get the
chance
B. Support Skills:
1. Determine the synonyms of words found in the novel
2. Illustrate the possessions in life through a collage
3. Analyze the novel through group dynamics
4. Relate the message of the novel in ones life through an open discussion

Procedure
A. Motivation
1. The class will start through an artistic activity. Each student will present
his/her most valuable possession in life through any various forms of art
(drawing, painting, collage, etc.). Then, each of them will explain on why did
he/she choose that possession.
2. After the activity, ask the following questions:
a. Why do we have valuable possessions in life?
b. In what way does these possessions affect our lives?

The class will be divided into four (4) groups and will do the following
tasks:

Group 1- The Speakers- Compose a two-stanza poem about the message of


the novel. Recite it in the class with intonation, expression and gestures.

Group 2- The Illustrators- Picture out the message of the novel through a
collage.

Group 3- The Makers- Make a booklet about five guidelines on how people
will have control over their possessions.
