Process Paper

When trying to decide what topic I should choose, I was trying to figure out some of my
interests and what might not be boring to me. When looking at my interests, I knew that I wanted
to do someone in either politics or dance/theatre. I like to be looking at and following along with
some of the current political discussions and campaigns. I decided that I wanted to choose and
research someone who wasnt commonly done, but was also someone who was currently making
a large impact on the world around us. I came down to the conclusion that I wanted to research
Hillary Rodham Clinton. She is a woman of many firsts and has changed the lives of women and
children all over the world.

I began to commence my research on Hillary Rodham Clinton by looking into online

biographies and her own autobiographies. I started going to the Downtown Lincoln Library and
the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library to look into more documents, other books specifically
on her elections, and any manuscripts on significant speeches by Hillary Clinton. I began to take
notes and document important sites and information that I knew I wanted to include in my
website. Unfortunately, I was unable to interview anyone for more information, but I did include
sources like the Library of Congress online data base, as well as the Hillary Clinton official
website for useful information and images.

I selected the format of a website because I liked the idea that it was able to combine
visuals, text, and technology all into one project. To create the website, I looked at and referred
to the notes that I previously took, and made an outline of what could potentially be in each
section of my website. From here, I went to Weebly and began to make my website. I included
information from my notes, primary source quotes, audio and video clips from videos of
speeches, and multiple images. My goal was to make the website easy to maneuver and use, by
using buttons to get from page to page. I also chose a theme that expressed the color scheme and
picture styles that I wanted, along with ways to easily select the page tabs. I was also trying to
tell a story and go in chronological order.

My topic relates to the NHD theme, Leadership and Legacy, because Hillary Rodham
Clinton, a woman of many firsts, has shown tremendous leadership, and has left a legacy for
women and everyone in the future. I believe that she is one of the strongest and most powerful
women to ever live. She has changed the way people are viewed, no matter the race or sex. No
other woman has made as many firsts and come to as much power as she has, with still more to
come, thus causing her to have a great legacy started, and a much greater one to continue in the
future.
