THE WAITING DAY

One day, there was a ferryman who noticed an old man

sitting at daybreak. The ferryman doubted that the old man
was just a beggar whom is waiting for a free ride on his raft
since ferrymen was custom to sail one beggar across the river
per day for free.
Poets and scholars told the ferryman to cross the river in techou because they were to share their vast knowledge to
other people but unfortunately he needed something to cover
them from the heat of the sun so he built a little house. Some
government officials strode toward
the ferryman,
they demanded him to take them to the other side of the
river for an important business, the ferryman built a fangchou but the officials wasnt satisfied, then the ferryman
brought food aboard,
The ferryman ignored the beggar
again. A bevy of lords must cross to the other side for an
urgent ceremony to attend, so he built a wei-chou but they
were not yet satisfied, so he hired a group of musicians to
play. After, the emperor stormed in and must get to the other
side of the river to inspect his new land, so the tired ferrymen
set to work once more, after his worn out day he asked the
old man if he waited the whole day but the old man was
surprised because he was waiting all day to see the sun set.

WHATS IN A NAME?
One fine day in Manila, when his mother brought her father
home. Grandpa looked handsome and younger compare to
his age, he was a Korean.

His grandfathers first English words to say to him was Korean

One day, he saw his grandpa drawing lines in a piece of
paper and told him you, and Won Chul so he exclaimed that it

asked his mom what is up with Won Chul so his mother told
him that his grandfather was a famous artist of his time and

A LETTER TO GOD
One day, an only house in the entire valley that sat on the
crest of a low hill. Lencho owns a field of ripe corn.
Lencho new his farm intimately, he had done nothing but to
scan the sky towards northeast.
After scanning the ate their meal, during the same meal big
drops of rain began to fall as what Lencho predicted.
For an hour, the rain hailed on their house, the garden, the
hillside, the entire valley. Lenchos field was white, nothing
was left . Lencho feels sad. On the same day Lencho thought

of his only hope-Gods help so he wrote a letter of help then

he placed a stamp and dropped it in the mailbox.
One of the employees laughed at the letter but for an act of
charity he asked from his employees some money and wrote
a letter, it was impossible for him to gather a thousand pesos
but he gathered more than a half atleast
At the following Sunday Lencho came to see if he had a
message from God , the postman himself handed the letter
and he went back to his house, he got angry when he
counted his money that God wouldnt have a mistake so he
went up and write a letter ok thanks and for the remaining
amount.

1.
Which event in
the story did you like the most?
2.
Who among the
characters did you like the most and why?
3.
What lesson did
you learn from the story?
First:
In the story, the part when the ferryman asked the
old man of his waiting for the day when the old man
was surprised of the question he told the ferryman he
was waiting but not for the ferry but to see the sun to
set and I like the beggar the most because even the
sun was very hot he had the spirit to stay and wait until
the sun sets. The lesson I learned from the story was
not to doubt at people and let them down for he is a
beggar.
Second:
The story of whats in a name saddens me at the end,
having the bonding with his grandfather is what I like
the most even though it did not last long, his

grandfather is what I admire the most because he tried

his best to speak in English just to communicate with
his grandson and with that I learned a huge lesson to
never give up and do your best.
Third:
The story of a letter to God was a great inspiration, It
was then when the employee had a heart of charity to
Lencho became my favorite event and I like Lencho
because he had that faith towards god that I admire the
most, whenever or wherever let us have faith in God
then we will pass thee sorrows we have experienced.
