Successful organizations understand the benefits of information

technology (IT) and use this knowledge to drive their shareholders
value. They recognize the critical dependence of many business
processes on IT, the importance of delivering the value promised by
IT, the need to comply with increasing regulatory compliance
demands and the benefits of managing risk effectively.
To aid organizations in successfully linking business and IT goals to
meet today's business challenges, the IT Governance Institute has
published an incremental update of COBIT, 4.1.
The update of COBIT from 4.0 to 4.1 resulted in an update of the
Training courses within the COBIT Education Portfolio. ISACA and
ITpreneurs aligned all training courses with the changes made and
are releasing these courses to partners beginning of Q3/2007.

Release information
ITpreneurs offers official ISACA training courses to the market. ITpreneurs partners have the opportunity to benefit
from this and deliver state of the art COBIT education to their customers. ISACA COBIT courses are developed by
experienced ISACA COBIT practitioners and courses are developed following a rigorous quality cycle.
The ISACA COBIT Foundation e-learning course (COB1010) was released in May of this year already. The classroom
materials and the ISACA COBIT Foundation Exam will be released in the first week of July.

Changes in the course materials:

The COBIT Foundation Course and Exam provide participants with knowledge on how to use COBIT rather than
explain COBIT in great detail. How to use COBIT has not changed with the update of COBIT; changes made are
more related to specific terminology. An example of this is the change of KGI and KPI to Outcome Measures and
Performance Indicators. New additions to COBIT are now described in the courses as well. References are made to
the added Assurance Guide and Control Practices. The training courses now also include information a new
framework from ISACA related to the management of IT investments: Val IT.
Here are some of the most significant changes made in the classroom course materials:

Content has been updated as per COBIT 4.1 released by ISACA.

Improved delivery by the instructor as the material for the instructor has been improved by adding
relevant examples and assignments.

Better knit and relaxed course agenda.

Relevance of support material mapped with classroom slides.

No repetition of content

COBIT Foundation Exam

The COBIT Foundation Exam based on COBIT 4.0 will be available for a period of 2 to 3 months and will
then be phased out. Candidates taking the exam can chose between different versions.

COBIT Games

The COBIT Games are introduced to the market again. The Games have undergone a significant quality
upgrade where the Game materials are now well lined up with the course materials and now tie in very well
with COBIT
