The modern network is diverse. Infrastructure is typically

designed and implemented on a per-project basis focused
on the needs of the immediate project or application being
delivered. Over time, this leads to a wide variety of throughput,
latency, connectivity, and security requirements in different areas
of a single organization. In an ideal situation, you could select a
security appliance to protect the network based on the network
performance requirements of the location. In practice, the
selection isnt that straightforward because security appliances
with different throughputs often have different features as well.
As a result, some organizations buy appliances with more
throughput than they need to achieve some measure of feature
standardization. Being forced to make such compromise is clearly
not optimal and often wasteful.

Introducing the 7000 Series Appliances from

Sourcefire
The 7000 Series appliances perfectly complement the higher
throughput 8000 Series appliances from Sourcefire. Providing
feature parity across the complete appliance range, the 7000 Series and 8000 Series
enable you to deploy security appliances based on the needs of the network link, not
supplemental features. This eliminates over-buying while still achieving standardized
features and management ease.

FirePOWER Performance
Just because a network link may be slower doesnt mean the data it carries is any less
critical. Sourcefire understands this and has included FirePOWER technology across the
complete 7000 Series appliance range. FirePOWER is the Sourcefire universal security
architecture that delivers best-in-class performance, availability, reliability, and low-latency
security.

Mixed-Media Support Through SFP Technology (7115/7125)

Sourcefires new 7115 and 7125 FirePOWER Appliances support mixed-media
capabilities via 12 available ports 4 copper configurable-bypass ports and 8 nonbypass SFP socket ports (fiber and copper). This mixed media support and increased
port density easily integrate with your existing network environment and allow you to
address more network configurations with a single device.

Performance Choice Without Compromise

In the 7000 Series appliances, the best technology and features are not reserved for
only the most expensive models. Gain features such as redundant power supplies,
low-latency inspection, and lights out management without having to buy a model with
more throughput than you need.
