Cause :
The system time in DST is inaccurate
if TZ is not properly set in the
Enterprise XI Release 2 UNIX
account shell.
Resolution :
Perform the following steps:
Log on to Enterprise XI Release 2
UNIX server.
Modify the shell login script with the
following commands:
i. For ksh
vi ~/.profile
ii. For bash
vi ~/.bashrc
iii. For csh
vi ~/.chsrc
Add TZ to the shell login script:
TZ=MST
export TZ
Source the modified shell login
script:
i. For ksh
. ~/.profile
ii. For bash
. ~/.bashrc
iii. For csh
. ~/.chsrc
Restart the Enterprsie XI Release 2

In Universe Designer when trying to

establish a connection with SAP BW,the
following error message appears:
Could not load provider for transport

The option to refresh the universe structure

is disabled under View menu in designer.
In that case, once we build a universe and a
report on top of that, how can we refresh
the universe structure if there is a change
in the BW query or Infocube?
Even if we have to rebuild the universe with
updated BW query or infocube, how can the
webi reports already built on top of this
modified universe continue to work?,as the
object id is going to change for every new
2 object that is created.
Option to create a new class or a new
3 object are disabled.

SAP recommends BO access to SAP BW

data sources only through Bex/BW queries.
This will result into a separate connection
and separate universe for each standard
Bex/BW query and will result into too many
universes and connections to be built and
maintained. We need to look for alternate
approach to minimize number of universes
that will be created. For Std business
content queries, we have to go by BEx
queries only as those may contain
calculated key figures and structures which
are not available if BO access is direct thro
4 infocube.
