Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of body

problem on stress and nutrition food. Data were gathered from
more then 4000 student living in SRM hostel. But we selected only
72 students. The participants were selected randomly. Girls were
informed that the purpose of the study was to gather information
on stress and nutrition food and each participant attended a face-to-
face interview. Subjects were administered a questionnaire
containing demographic Profile, anthropometric measurements,
daily energy and macro-nutrients intakes, Stress Scale were used
or descriptive purposes. Stress Symptom Scale, Stress Related
Factors, Susceptibility to Stress Scale and total Score were
significantly associated with nutrition food and daily energy and
nutrients intake.

Key words: Stress, body problem, nutrient intake, boys

INTRODUCTION
Nutrition is a science that examines the relationship between diet and
health. Dieticians are health professionals who specialize in this area of
study, and are trained to provide safe, evidence-based dietary advice and
interventions.

Deficiencies, excesses and imbalances in diet can produce negative

impacts on health, which may lead to diseases such as cardiovascular
disease, diabetes, scurvy, obesity or osteoporosis, as well as
psychological and behavioral problems. Moreover, excessive ingestion
of elements that have no apparent role in health, (e.g. lead, mercury,
PCBs, dioxins), may incur toxic and potentially lethal effects, depending
on the dose.

Many common diseases and their symptoms can often be prevented or

alleviated with better nutrition. The science of nutrition attempts to
understand how and why specific dietary aspects influence health.

Overview

The purposes of nutrition science are to explain metabolic and

physiological responses of the body to diet. With advances in molecular
biology, biochemistry, and genetics, nutrition science is additionally
developing into the study of metabolism, which seeks to disconnect diet
and health through the lens of biochemical processes.

The human body is made up of chemical compounds such as water,

amino acids (proteins), fatty acids (lipids), nucleic acids (DNA/RNA),
and carbohydrates (e.g. sugars and fiber). These compounds in turn
consist of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and
phosphorus, and may not contain minerals such as calcium, iron, or zinc.
Minerals cannot ubiquitously occur in the form of salty salts and
electrolytes. All of these chemical compounds and elements occur in
various forms and combinations (e.g. hormones/vitamins,
phospholipids, hydroxyapatite), both in the human body and in
organisms (e.g. plants, animals) that humans eat.

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
CHI-SQUARE TEST

It is assumed that the 72 people for the question number 7 and 8 is in the table

Do you have any body problem? Because of not

taking proper nutritional food?
Do you feel that nutritional
will help to live healthy and
peacefully: Yes No Total
Yes 31 30 61
No 2 9 11
33 39 72

Ho: There is no significant difference in the body problem and health and peaceful.
H1: There is a significant difference in the body problem and health and peaceful.

Chi-square x2 = (O-E)2
E

O - Observed frequency
E - Expected frequency

Calculating the CV of the table

(33*61)/72=27.95 (39*61)/72=33.04
(33*11)/72=5.041 (39*11)/72=5.958

Observed frequency Expected frequency (o-e)2 (o-e)2/e
31 27.95 9.302 0.3328
30 33.04 9.241 0.2796
2 5.041 9.247 1.8343
9 5.958 9.253 1.5530
Total .999

Calculated value of chi-square = 0.999

Tabulated value at (2-1) (2-1) = 1 at 5% degrees of freedom is 3.841
Since CV < TV accept the null hypothesis

Result :- Ho: There is no significant difference in the body problem and health and
peaceful..

16
Result and Inferences
Chi-Square Test:
According to the test samples collected, we have observed that
difference in the body problem and health and peaceful. are independent of each
other .

Percentage Analysis:

It indicates From the study aware of the term nutritional stress, the result is
that 50% of the respondents say yes and 50% of the respondents say no respectively.

It indicates that From the study body problem due to lack of nutritional
food, the result is that 46% of the respondents say yes and 54% of the respondents
say no respectively.

From the above study you come to know about nutritional food the result is that
16.67% of the respondent’s books; 33.33% of respondents are friends; 20% of the
respondents are T.V.; 30% of the respondents are above others. From the study the
result is that 33.33% of the majority are from FRIENDS.
.

17
Finding:-
1. From the gender wise analysis I found 35% of the respondent are from the
female and 65% male.
2. 78% of respondent are aware of nutritional food and 22% of the respondent
are not aware of nutritional food.
3. 71% of respondent are taking nutritional food and 29% of the respondent are
not taking of nutritional food.
4. 86% of respondent are feel healthy and 14% of the respondent are not feel
healthy.
5. 67% of respondent are aware of various diseases due to lack of nutritional
food and 33% of the respondent say no respectively.
6. 58% of respondent feeling very inactive due to lack of nutritional food and
42% of the respondent are say no.
7. 46% of respondent having body problem due to lack of proper nutritional
food and 54% of the respondent say no.
8. 85% of respondent feel that nutrition will help to keep healthy and peacefully
and 15% of the respondent say no.
9. 40% of respondent having stress related problem from food and 58% of the
respondent say no.
10. 17% of respondent knew about nutritional food through books.33% of the
respondent through friends and 20% of respondent are TV. The majority is
through friends.

Suggestions:-
Actually I did this project in student hostel, in SRM. The student who are not aware
of nutritional food and resistance for stress they should find the information from
it’s sources like books, advertisements, TV. etc. no one can avoid stress altogether
but some people are better equipped to handle stress then others. the people who
having body problem due to deficiency of nutritional food they should take plenty of
nutritious food.

18
Conclusion:

The results of this study indicate that stress and nutrition food as a
significant role contributing to underweight and overweight status and energy and
food item consumption. Irregular nutrition, insufficient nutrition and malnutrition
cause obesity. This situation affects the psychology of person who is concerned
with their older and leads to stress and health problems. A complete stress
management program should be considered, in which a good diet and exercise
program old improve a person ability to cope with stress. Our diet can ‘detune’ the
nervous system, causing individuals to become more irritable. Lack of exercise a
lead to increased demands on the body that makes more difficult to confront
stressors.
The study had several limitations. Unfortunately, there is less information
and few documents available on this type of study, both in SRM hostel. However, it
Voluntary. We think that this study will be a guide to future studies. Sufficient and
balanced nutrition, suitable diet, exercise and stress management programs are
ecessary for every individual. Men and women a like hould be educated and
counseled on this subject.
