Emcee Text (Story Telling Competition)

Introduction
Assalammualaikum and good morning to all teachers and pupils from various
schools in the Central Zone. (mention all the school names if necessary). I am
Madam Nafsiah, your emcee for todays ceremony. Welcome to the Story Telling
Competition, Zone Level 2015.
To bless our ceremony, let us all take a moment to recite Surah al-Fatihah.
We are gathered here today in the unity of providing young learners with the
opportunity to explore their talents as well as promoting the use of English language
outside the classroom.
Here with us today are appointed judges who will judge the contestants. Let us get
to know the panel of judges.
Firstly, Miss Siti Khairiah Mahtar from SK Lipasu. Madam Catherine Ponding from
SK Kimondou. Madam Rufinah Mikie from SK Kilimu. Mr Razalin Rajum from SK
Libang. And last but not least, Madam Fauziah Alian Wong from SK Mohimboyon.
Before we start the competition, I will read out the rules and regulations.
The competition is divided into 2 sections (Prepared story and impromptu)
For Section 1,

Storied presented must not touch sensitive issues such as race, religion
etc.
Stories must be thematically educational.
Props, backdrops and sound effects are not allowed. Any use of these will
allow for disqualification by the judges.
Time allocated to present the story is 4 to 5 minutes. The bell will be rung
at the fifth minute. Marks will be deducted thereafter.

For Section 2,

Each contestant will pick a card.


After 30 seconds, contestants tell their story based on a word on the
chosen card.
Stories should not be a repetition or reproduction of the story presented in
Section 1. Contestants will be disqualified if they do so.
Time allocated is 2 to 3 minutes. The bell will be rung at the third minute.
Marks will be deducted thereafter.

Welcome back to the Story Telling Competition, Zone Level 2015. We have reached
the second section of the competition, which is impromptu story telling. Each
contestant will pick their card and tell a story based on the word written on their
chosen card. Let me remind you again that all contestants are given 30 seconds of
time after picking a card. Contestants may start telling the story when the bell is
rung. Time allocated to present the impromptu story is 2 to 3 minutes. The bell will
be rung at the third minute.
