Geometers Sketchpad Unit 1 Lesson Plan Geometry Periods 3rd, 5th, & 6th Mrs.

Evelyn Morrison Introduction: This lesson unit is designed to investigate the components of Geometers Sketchpad while incorporating the beginning elements of Geometry. Learning Goals: Students will be able to open Geometers Sketchpad, construct simple geometry figures, measure segments and angles, translate the figures through a rotation and reflection, construct perpendicular and parallel lines, construct segment and angle bisectors, and construct circumscribed and inscribed circles. The use of Geometers Sketchpad will also reinforce the students understanding of the geometry figures and constructs described above. Integration Outline: Teaching Unit Title: Geometers Sketchpad Unit 1 Subject Area: Geometry Grade Level: 10th 12th grades Length of Unit: 5 days Technology Level: beginner to intermediate
