In Nursing (BSN) Program
The next article CHED organize schools or universities that have nursing
majors must meet the requirements before holding or nursing education.
besides, CHED also expects each institution can describe nursing BSN
programs are organized. for nursing itself has no specific standards that govern
it. Programs are offered here can be interpreted as the subject course. The
program will be studied nursing students to become professional nurses. this is
done to create the same quality standards, so that graduates can be accepted
by the job.
Furthermore CHED more detail in regulating nursing curriculum for each
institution. each institution is required to have a nurse competency standards. to
maintain the quality of nursing graduates CHED prefer arrange all these things.
so, it is expected that graduates possess good analytical in a situation and be
able to think critically to solve problems or implement nursing care. The
competency standards are described in accordance with the responsibilities of a
nurse, after which also explained that the core of any competence, and
indicators must be met nurses.
The next is the article that regulates the curriculum. nursing curriculum
created by CHED is good, it is seen from the prerequisite courses to be studied.
meaning that students can learn the subject when the subject has completed the
first subject in the previous semester. The student shall be given opportunities to
be expose to various levels of health care ( Health promotion, disease
prevention, risk reduction, curative and restoration of health) with various client
groups (Individual, family, population groups and community) in various settings
(hospital, community). These opportunities shall be given graduate experience to
ensure that the competencies per course, per level and for the whole program
are developed.
For the problem of curriculum, CHED has given an outline of formal
curriculum and should be followed by each institution nursing. An outline of the
curriculum is divided into two parts, the first is outline of total unit of general
education (GE) Course :87 Unit. And the second is outline and units of
professional course as much as 115 unit. Furthermore regulated in this
curriculum are hours and hours of practice of student learning, both in the
laboratory and in the hospital.
