Add a PTFA page to the school website
WEBSITE – Ken has been working on a
redesign/update on the school website after
discussions with Ms Russell. General consensus is
the website is dated and difficult to update and it
would be great to get it more user friendly with
more recent photographs to represent the school
as it is today.
Discussion centred on why make changes when
we will have a new head within 6 months who may
want to change it? Time/resources and money
required are not easily available. It is also a
decision on a business level as would impact the
look of prospectus etc. Argument for in that Ken
already done 90% of work required and the fact
that if the head wants to change it will be easier as
in a more user friendly format

TEACHING Mr Bradley – thanked PTFA for work they do really Is Home Contact going to Mr Bradley
RESOURCES 2010 proud to be at the school and great to have such an be used to alert parents to
involved parent community. Commented that the cover staff?
school is facing an interesting time in light of the
vacancy for a head and the ongoing educational
work being done based on the Ofsted report.
The resources discussion came about with year
1&2 as a result of teacher non contact time and a
number of different covers.
What the school tries very hard to do is have
consistency with supply teachers so that the
children get to know that teacher and the teacher
gets to know the children and the functioning of the
school, rather than having a variety of covers and
therefore new faces for the children.
Various meeting attendees commented on the
need to communicate to the parents that this goes
on and to let them know who will be looking after
their children on that day so that the children can
be pre warned and parents know who it is looking
after their children. This can be dome very easily
through Home Contact and can be class specific.
Mr Bradley didn’t want to “over communicate” but
agrees that this would be a good idea. Also
emphasised the need for children to learn to be
able to deal with change.

Parental Consultation – will be extended this year

to run later to give the teachers a break in the
middle to refresh and allow parents who work a
better chance of getting there. There will also be an
extra day.
