INTRODUCTION
The UNODC logo has been updated.
Please only use the updated version from 1 January 2009.

The following pages contain the guidelines for use of the United Nations Office on Drugs
and Crime (UNODC) logo.

The logo may only be reproduced by any other entity with the prior written permission from
UNODC.

THE UNODC LOGO


The UNODC logo consists of the emblem and the logo type (Organization’s acronym and full
name).

USE OF THE LOGO


The logo should always be reproduced in 100 per cent full colour (blue, black or white, see
page 3) and not tinted in any way.

The logo should not be used as a tinted or decorative background.

The logo should not be modified or rescaled in any way.

Always use the UNODC logo as provided by the Advocacy Section.

The logo is used horizontally and should never be rotated.

The logo should never be modified or redrawn.

The logo will be available on the intranet.

LANGUAGES
The UNODC logo is provided for use in English, French, Spanish, Arabic,
Chinese and Russian.

The acronym used in the Organization’s logo is drawn from the English acronym of the
Organization:

UNODC

Abbreviations derived from the initial letters of the Organization’s name in the other offical
languages will not be used.

The acronym is accompanied by the full name spelt out in each respective language.

CLEAR SPACE
A protective space around the logo must be maintained.

In the example below ‘x’ represents the clear space around the logo: ‘x’ is equal to half the
height of the UNODC emblem.

COLOURS
The UNODC logo should be reproduced in blue (75 Cyan/15 Magenta) wherever possible to
strengthen the Organization’s corporate identity.

Depending on your needs black (as a second preference and for stationery) and white may
also be used. However, the image area of the logo and the logo type should always have a
strong contrast in relation to the background colour used.

Appropriate blue, black and white logo versions are made available.

LOGO SIZE
Please use your judgement to ensure that all elements of the logo are clearly legible at all
times. In all instances the UNODC logo should be no less than 65 mm in length.

The UNODC logo should be given equal prominence if employed in conjunction with
logos/emblems of other organizations, institutions or companies.

The UNODC logo should be clearly separated from logos/emblems and names of commercial
companies.

UNACCEPTABLE USE OF THE LOGO


Neither the composition of the UNODC logo nor the representation of its compontents may
be altered. Some examples of unacceptable modifications and incorrect uses of the UNODC
logo are shown below.

Do not superimpose the UNODC logo over any image that obscures the logo or renders the
logo type difficult to read.
