Where do you live?
Hol lsz?
I live in a small town near Eger. I live in a spacious house with a big garden. When you enter you
arrive at the hall. There are rooms on both sides of the hall, on the right you find the bathroom
with the toilet, on the left there is the kitchen. At the back of the hall you can find the living room
which is spacious and light. It has got two big windows which face the garden. There is a door in
the living room which leads to the bedroom. In the middle there is a nice double bed, where I
sleep with my wife.

I would like to buy a flat if I had money. Unfortunately, I would need to ask a big loan from the
bank. When you ask for a long term loan, for example for 20 years, the bank wants you to have
at least 25% of the price of the flat and they give you the rest. Then every month you have to
pay a monthly instalment. If you rent a flat, you usually have to pay a deposit to the owner and
then you pay every month a fix amount of money for renting it. I think renting a flat is much
safer and you dont risk your future.

Well, I have to pay the monthly instalments to the bank and besides I have some other
expenses. I have to pay the gas, the electricity, the water and the cable TV. As I have internet
access I pay that too. If you live in a block of flats you pay the common costs, which cover the
insurance of the building, the garbage collection and many other things. Fortunately, in summer
I dont need to pay for the heating.

My dream home would be located somewhere at the beach, near the sea. It would have 3 or 4
rooms and it would be very spacious and light with a lot of big windows. There would be French
windows that open on the sea. The furnishing would be simple and only the necessary things
would be around. Around the house there would be many trees and nice green grass. Of course a
swimming pool is a must and maybe I would have a tennis court built too.

I live in a nice house and every week I have to do the basic cleaning at the weekend. It means
that I hoover the carpets and mop the floor. During the week when I get home earlier I do the
laundry and every second day I have to wash up the dishes, because I dont like if my kitchen
smells bad. Once a month I dust the carpets and all the books then I clean the windows and
mirrors after that I wash the doors and scrub the bathtub and the toilet.

Big cities like Budapest suffer from the unemployment and poverty. It can have several reasons
and it cant be solved easily. There are people who cant pay their mortgages and thats why
they lost their houses or there are who got divorced and were left without a flat. Some people
arrive from the countryside or even from another country. Probably they hope to find a good job
or a better life here.

An average English family lives in a medium sized semi-detached house. They have a small yard
in front of the house and a garden at the back of the house. There is a garage for the car at the
side. The rooms are not too big and carpets cover all the floors, even the stairs. They usually
have a sofa and two armchairs in the living room. The living room is downstairs and the three

bedrooms are upstairs.
