HOW TO GET A JOB

INTERVIEWER
Mrs. Lopez. Welcome, come on in, have a seat.
INTERVIEWEE
All right, thank you for having me.
INTERVIEWER
Ive been looking over your resume and I have to say I am very impressed.
INTERVIEWEE
Oh, thank you.
INTERVIEWER
You know. Actually, I think, to be honest, you are overqualified to be an
accountant.
INTERVIEWEE
Oh well. Thats okay. I dont intend to work very hard
INTERVIEWER
Ah. Really?
INTERVIEWEE
Absolutely. In fact, I only intend to show up when I feel like it, which is good
because I've a wide variety of extremely annoying personal habits and
absolutely no sense of hygiene.
INTERVIEWER
Oh. You know then, I dont feel like you are then the correct person for this
position.
INTERVIEWEE
Thats okay. I quit.
INTERVIEWER
You cant quit. You dont work here.

INTERVIEWEE
Like I would ever work here
INTERVIEWER
Like we would ever hire you
INTERVIEWEE
Oh yeah?
INTERVIEWER
Yeah, and even if you did work here I wouldnt even give you the opportunity to
quit because I would fire you.
INTERVIEWEE
You cant fire me because I dont work here!
INTERVIEWER
That`s right, you dont and I would get you out of here so quick!
INTERVIEWEE
Prove it!
INTERVIEWER
Okay, you`ve got the job!
INTERVIEWEE
Thank you!
INTERVIEWER
Youre welcome. Now, it is my pleasure to inform you that
INTERVIEWEE
I quit!
INTERVIEWER
You can`t quit, I fire you.
INTERVIEWEE
No, Its too late, I don`t work here anymore.
INTERVIEWER
Fine, lets try this again. Youve got the job and now youre fired.

INTERVIEWEE
No, you offered me the job and I never accepted. Look, I have already worked
for you and it is very tedious and now you want me back. It is a regressive
career move.
INTERVIEWER
Okay, what can we do to get you to come work for us?
INTERVIEWEE
A rise!
INTERVIEWER
A rise?
INTERVIEWEE
Two hundred dollars an hour
INTERVIEWER
2 hundred dollars an hour? Ok, prorated to the 10 seconds you will be working
here, are (make) 12 cents.
INTERVIEWEE
And I Promise I wont quit.
INTERVIEWER
You promise you wont quit. You promise youll let me fire you.
INTERVIEWEE
If you still want to!
INTERVIEWER
Im sure Im going to want to. So, we have a deal?
INTERVIEWEE
Not yet. Ive already been on the accounting here. I feel like in a background
position. I want something higher. How about junior vice president.
INTERVIEWER
Junior vice president and two hundred dollars an hour or 12 cents, whichever
comes first, and you promise not to quit before I have the opportunity to fire
you.
INTERVIEWEE
Thats correct.

INTERVIEWER
Great. Youve got the job!

INTERVIEWEE
I accept!
INTERVIEWER
Great! Now youre fired.
INTERVIEWEE
Oh, No! You cant fire me. Im junior vice president. Im your boss.
INTERVIEWER
But that doesnt make sense.
INTERVIEWEE
And, as your boss, I regret that I have to fire you
INTERVIEWER
Why are you firing me?
INTERVIEWEE
Well, I cant help but notice as head of personal that youve been hiring some
very strange people lately, at two hundred dollars an hour. For me
INTERVIEWER
What am I supposed to do without a job?
INTERVIEWEE
Well, we do have a new position, opening up and hiring personal. Do you have
any experience?
