Good morning.
To the honorable the principal of 26 VHS, the judges, the teachers that I
respect, ladies and gentlemen, and friends that I love.
First, lets pray to the Almighty Allah SWT who gave us health so we can
gather here today.
Now, Id like to ask you about Sumpah Pemuda. What is Sumpah pemuda?
Yeah, Sumpah Pemuda is a declaration by the young Indonesia nationalists
that made in October 28th 1928. The Independence of RI now also because
of the spirit they had in the past. The spirit to take our Nation to freedom.
The spirit to unite. And What is the real meaning behind it? Its the spirit of
youth of course!
In their youth life they has the ambition to unite all of our people to create
the great Indonesia. They have ambition. They have the spirit.
Now, what I want to tell you actually is this Spirit of youth. In our own era,
you might have heard or see it or even watch it in TV, magazines, or other
media networks, that some teenagers in our age have problem with their
ambition to learn new things, especially good things. They dont have the
spirit. The spirit of youth. Maybe in some aspects its a different thing, but..
if we think again about it, the spirit of youth is not only about uniting, it also
about learn and study new things. The spirit that helps built their future. The
spirit that change their selves to be a better person. This spirit we talking
about is actually the spirit of youth! The spirit that our ancestors showed to
us. The spirit which take us to the freedom of our country!
And why do teenagers this day dont have this spirit?
The answer is easy. It is the globalization. Today we have everything take
care by tech, and the world become easier to live in. and today teenagers
spend most of their time in front of computers or wasting their time playing
video games.
And you must be asking, why people in America or other great country didnt
get affected?
The real matter is that they also have this problem. BUT, most of their people
have the ambition to learn and to study new things. And in the end, the

people who get affected will follow their most environments take which lead
them to have the same thought. So, why are we not?
Actually, our people have this kind ambition too. BUT again, they dont seem
like taking benefits of it. As you can see many people become homeless,
jobless, and many other in our country. Because of what? Its because they
dont want to try, to learn, to take benefits of their youth spirit.
So the point is we as the young generation, have to have this spirit from
now on. Say it deep down in our heart, that we want to change. We want to
be a better country! We want to be a better generation! We want to be
success!! And we dont afraid to act it out! Either in school or out of school.
