Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT)

Heat Course III-2015 (5-9 October 2015)

Logistical Information

TIME AND LOCATION OF THE TRAINING COURSE


The Training Course will start on Monday, 5 October at 08.00 with the registration of the
participants and will finish on Friday, 9 October around 18.00.
Classes will be held in Livorno and surrounding places.
Participants are expected to arrive in Livorno by Sunday, 4 October and to depart after the end of the
last lecture.
All the travel expenses will be responsibility of each participant while transfers a/r between the Pisa
airport or the Livorno train station and the course location will be arranged by the Carabinieri
Corps. Pick up at the airport of Pisa or at the railroad station of Livorno will be organised by the
Carabinieri Corps free of charge, provided that participants inform the organizers about their travel
details at least one week before the beginning of the course.
ACCOMMODATION
You will be provided with a shared room at the basic facilities of the 1st Carabinieri Paratrooper
Regiment Tuscania, located in Livorno, Caserma Vannucci, via dellArdenza n. 133, from the 4th
to the 9th of October. Please note that lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday at the canteen of the
Carabinieri Corps are included in the tuition fee while the dinner on Sunday evening and the
breakfasts are not included. Those opting for independent solutions (at their own expenses) will be
provided with a list of possible accommodations next to the training premises.
CLOTHING
Informal and comfortable clothing is requested for the class days. You are kindly asked to dress
properly, specifically with trekking or gym shoes (no high heels or similar), heavy duty trousers,
long sleeve T-shirt. You have to bring with you a backpack with a complete change of clothes
(underwear included). Preferably wear old clothes or clothes you dont care so much about because
during the training there is the chance that they might be a bit ruined.
PREPARATION OF THE COURSE
All the participants must have a valid driving licence. You must bring your driving licence with you
(as you will be requested to drive a 4 wheel car).

All participants admitted to attend the Course must register and finalize the online Course e-HEST
available, free of charge, at: https://ehest.consilium.europa.eu/login/index.php or, of the Basic
Security in the Field (BSTIF II) accessible free of charge at http://dss.un.org.
Please bring to Livorno the Certificate confirming that you did pass the course. Please be aware that
this is a prerequisite to allow you to attend the course.
