Following tests shall be conducted by the manufacturer
on tubes.
14.1 The tensile strength shall be at leasl 320 1\1 Pa
( 320 Nzrum "). The test shall be carried out on fu!l
section or strip cut from the selected tub e s in
accordance with IS 1608 and IS 12278,

A-I The maximum permissible pressure and
temperature for tubes with screwed and socketed joints
shall be as given in Table 6.

The tube to be tested or the test coil assembly is rotate
and translated relative to each other so the test co
describes a helical path over the tube surface. Th
pitch of the helical scan shall ensure that the whol
of the tube surface is effectively covered. This methc
is applicable to seamless tubes only.
