Webcomic Script: The Garden

Style: Sketchbook style and cartoonish style

(Some scenes will be illustrated as sketchbook pages as done by the child)
Plot outline:
--Opening conflict: massive killing of animals as seen on tv by the father of the boy .
He gets called by his wife to help the kids. He offs the TV and leaves the room.

Intro: Boy discovers that his familys garden is enchanted and inhabited by a big
army of animals
(Gate to the garden is locked. He discovered his fathers key as he was cleaning the
room)
His father turns out to be the captain of the animals in the garden.
He was once a hunter but turned good. He did his best to save as much animals as
he could.
1st Conflict: Cutting down of trees and hunting down of animals in their community
1st Resolution: Talks with the mayor (including the family and the animals) The
mayor and the people dont understand the animals
(Mayor turns out to be a hunter too with little knowledge of governing the
community)

At night, However, he orders a group of people to raid their house to arrest them all.
The boy and his father were in the garden talking with the animals. The minions
enter the house and arrests his mother and siblings. Some minions enter the garden
and calls the others. Almost all of the animals were captured as well as the boy and
his father. A few were left.

Other things to insert:

Ability to see things differently from what normal people see (to see the goodness in
everybody)
--The Grand Master- the one who is in charge of all things living and non-living. Only
the animals and the boys family are able to see him so far. Creatures who are
selfless and are loyal to him can see him.
The mark- everyone bears it but cannot be seen by the physical eye. However it
fades when people act out of their own interest. It returns when peopl

Background story

Animals were cursed by a nature creature because when they were humans
they were loggers and animal hunters that destroyed forests.
They had a deal to do acts of kindness and in return it would transform them
back. Kid dies and the animals ask it to bring him back instead of turning the
animals into humans.

To add:
the kid waits for his parents to arrive . Sometimes there would be a time that they
arrive after 2-3 days. (Parents are wildlife researchers and are actually protectors of
the garden)
Kid remembers the garden through a dream with his mothers lullaby (lullaby is
about the garden)

Final Outline:
1- normal life, he notices a lot of animals in their backyard, parents are away most
of the time

2- Boy finds a mysterious gate in their backyard which can only be opened with his
mothers lullaby

3- He then meets the inhabitants of the garden and talks to them about the origin of
the place)
Animals explain to the child that all creatures where in harmony with one another.
It was only when man started to pursue his own selfish interests.
The leader of the team of animals was the ________ who was a statue and only
becomes alive when a full moon has risen
He asks parents about the garden and they explain to him that they were
protectors of the garden

4- normal day to day life (he and the animals greet and help each other)
The kid and the parents invite the little sister to the garden and tells her how to
enter it.

5- conflict : cutting down of trees and burning of the northern part of the forest

6- contact with mayor , mayor refuses the plea

7-animals and the family did efforts to prevent further damage to the forest

8- mayor notices and sends a group of hunters to attack the familys house and that
of the animals

9- the hunters attack and captures the parents, some of the kids and the animals in
the garden
( the kid didnt know that the hunters were already at the house. He sang the lullaby
and the gates opened. The hunters then grabbed the kid and entered the garden.
They forced the animals to surrender so that the kid wont have to die)

10- the younger sister remains and the baby animals were left to save them . Their
neighbour (not too old lady) helps them. It was full moon at that time, and the _____
become alive and helped them too. They eventually save them
11- They capture the hunters and the mayor. The old lady eventually becomes the
new mayor of the town.
12- Peace is restored

*Twist: father turns out to be evil. Nature spirit warns about an evil presence that it
could not control.
