10.1

Nameplates

10.1.1 A tank made in accordance with ths standard shall be dentified by a nameplate

smlar to that shown in

Figure 10.1. The nameplate shall indicate, by means of letters and numerals not less than 4 mm (5/32 in.) high, the
following inforrnaton :

markings shall be used.

1) Use"SRl'when only flush-type cleanout fmings and flush-pe shell connecons have been themally stressreleved.

2) Use "SR2" when thermal stress-relef has been perfomed on flush-type cleanout fittings, flush-type shell
connectons and all shell openngs NPS 12 and greater in sze in shell plates (or nsert plates) of Groups I
through lllA.

3) Use "SR3" when thermal stress-relief has been performed on flush-type cleanout fitting, flush-type shell
connections and all shell openngs greater than NPS 2 in. sze in shell plates (or insert plates) of Groups lV
through Vl.

4) Use "SR4" when ermal sess-relief has been performed on all flush-qpe cleanod flings, flush-type shell
connections and all shell openings.

5) Use'SR5" when the completed tank, includng all shell openngs and attachments, has been thermally stressrelieved as a special requirement by the Purchaser.

6) Use "NONE' when thermal stress-relef has not been performed on any tank appurtenances.

The nameplate shall be attached to the tank shell adjacent to a manhole or to a manhole reinforcing plate
mrnediately above a manhole. A nameplate that s placed directly on the shell plate or renforcing.Plate shall be
anached bi continuous welding or bralng all around the nameplate. A nameplate that s riveted or otherwise
permaneny attached to an auxiliary plate f fenous materal shall be anached to the tank shell plate or renforcng
plate by connuous weldng. The nameplate shall be of corosion-resistant rietal.

When a tank is fabrcated and erected by a sngle organzaton, that organizaon's name shall appear on the

narnedate as both fabrcator and erector.


When a tank s fabricated by one organizaon and erected by another, the nanres of both organizations shall
appear on the nameplate, of separate nameplates shall be applied by mch.

10.2

Divison of Responsibility

Unless otherwse agreed upon, when a tank s fabricated by one Manufacturer and erected by another, the erection
Manufacturer shall be considered as havng the prmary responsibility. The erecon Manufacturer shall make certan
that the materials used n the fabrication of the components and in the construction of the tank are in accordance with
all applicable requirements.

10.3 Certficaton
The Manufacturer shall certfy to the Purchaser, by a letter such as that shown in Figure 10.2, that the tank has been
constructed n accordance with the applcable requirements of this standard. An as-bualt data sheet in accordance
wth Annex L shall be attached to the certifcaton letter.

NOTE At the Purchaser's requet or at the erecton Manufaclurer's discreton, additional pennent nformation may be shown on
the nameplate, and the sze of the nameplate may be increased proportonately.
