SFRA Testing on Two winding Transformer:

The Magnitude and Phase difference between two terminals of the test object over a
range of frequencies.
SFRA is a powerful and sensitive method to evaluate the mechanical integrity of
core, windings and clamping structures within power transformers by measuring
their electrical transfer functions over a wide frequency range.
Standards to Refer : IEEE - C57.149 , IEC 60076-18 , Chinese DL911/2004

Condition of the transformer:

1. Transformer must be fully assembled with and OIL or
Gas filled.
2. All Bus bars must be disconnected
3. Tank earth must be grounded.
4. The secondary side of current Transformer installed
shall be shorted and earthed.
Test Connection :
1. The standard Measurement shall be end to end
measurement of each phase of winding, with all the
other terminals left floating.
2. Additional Test measurements are Short Ckt plot,
Capacitive Intertwinding, Inductive intertwinding.
3. For Tapped winding, testing is done on the tap
position with the highest number of turns in circuit
and on the tap position with the tap winding out of
circuit.
4. Other winding with fixed number of turns shall be
measured on the tap position for the highest number
of turns in the tap winding.
5. Auto Transformer, measurement is made for series
winding H1h1 and h1N with tap position on highest
and lowest.
6. Changing of tap shall be made in the direction of
raising voltage unless otherwise specified.
7. For DETC, at Normal Position if known, and highest
number of position.
8. For DETC at all tap position if Normal position is not
known.
