Interpersonal conflict is arguably the most important in terms of its impact on performance and
group members satisfaction. The article written by Andrew Hede offers a partial explanation of
intragroup conflict based on a new construct, the shadow group. According to the article each
person can be seen as having a shadow -self and overt-self. Shadow self is the hidden part of
individual psyche whereas; overt self is set of qualities individual is aware of. Read the article

carefully and discuss what leads to interpersonal conflict in work setting. Discuss by explaining
shadow-self and overt-self along with dimensions in detail with sound justification.
