Indias Intended Nationally Determined Contribution INDC
IndiahassubmitteditsactionplantotheUNclimatebody,UNFCCC.Everycountryissubmittingtheseaction
plans,calledIntendedNationallyDeterminedContributions,orINDCs,aheadofanannualclimatechange
conferenceinDecembertobeheldinParis.IndiahassubmitteditsIntendedNationallyDetermined
Contribution(INDC)totheUnitedNationsFrameworkConventiononClimateChange.Someofthesalient
pointsoftheINDCare:
Toputforwardandfurtherpropagateahealthyandsustainablewayoflivingbasedontraditionsand
valuesofconservationandmoderation.
Toadoptaclimatefriendlyandacleanerpaththantheonefollowedhithertobyothersat
correspondinglevelofeconomicdevelopment.
ToreducetheemissionsintensityofitsGDPby33to35percentby2030from2005level.
Toachieveabout40percentcumulativeelectricpowerinstalledcapacityfromnonfossilfuelbased
energyresourcesby2030,withthehelpoftransferoftechnologyandlowcostinternationalfinance,
includingfromGreenClimateFund.
