Woman: Excuse me; do you know how I can get to the bank?
Officer:

Sure! Which bank are you heading to?

Woman: Oh! I think it's HSBC... Yes, HSBC Do you know where it is?
Officer:

Uh, It's not easy!. Pay attention, please. You have to walk south, two em, no, three blocks, until
you get to Sandy Porter Road. Then, you turn left and walk until you find a Vodafone store; it's
like five or six blocks. After that, you turn right again and walk two more blocks. HSBC is on your
left, in front of the post office. I hope you don't get lost.

Woman:

Oh no, let me check. It's three blocks south, turn right on Sandy Porter, walk to the vodafone
store and turn right again; and, finally, after two blocks, I'll find the bank in front of the post
office, right?

Officer:

Yes Madam. That's it.

Woman: Well, thank you. Bye! Have a wonderful day officer.

Officer:

Thank you, you do the same.

Suggestions
You can have a vocabulary game to introduce new words, prior to watching the video.
You can also have students make predictions based on the first screenshot and the vocabulary you introduced
beforehand.
To reduce anxiety, let your pupils know that they will have a number of chances to get the information. 3
repetitions should be enough; the first one should be used for general understanding (just listening), during the
second one students can complete the script (fill in), and the last one could be a good chance to check answers.
For the second activity, tell your students that the red circle represents the place where the two people are talking,
and the squares represent the different key places the officer mentions.
