POSITIONING STATEMENT: Where Rock Lives

FREQUENCY OF PUBLICATION: Monthly
PRICE: 3.99
DISTRIBUTION: Newsagents and supermarkets, music record shops; eg. HMV
RATIONALE: The approach of the magazine is from a rock music fans perspective.
All content will be based around my audience research about what fans want to
see within the magazine instead of uninteresting content, therefore will contain a
lot of review writing circulating around gigs, festivals and albums. A lot of
opinions and insights will be used.
STYLE: Informal, containing a lot of humour and a lot of opinion writing. (Blunt,
strong opinions of albums, festivals, and things being reviewed.) The magazine
is for all rock music fans and will use simple, high frequency lexis and basic
syntax that conveys a conversational tone in order to create humour and a
relationship with the audience. A lot of story telling, short paragraphs, slang
and puns will be used throughout.
