SOUND:
(A
clip
is
found
below,
including
all
of
the
sound
played
in
the
opening
sequence
of
Sleeping
with
the
Enemy,
linking

the
sound
analysis)
The
sound
is
peaceful
and
soft,
contrasting
to
the
title
Sleeping
with
the
Enemy.
Non-diegetic
sound
is
played;
a
woodwind
instrument
is
playing
a
calm,
melodic
tune,
which
builds
tension,
putting
the
audience
on
edge
as
theyre
waiting
for
a
sound
to
interrupt
the
calm
and
still
song.
The
piano
is
then
introduced,
resulting
in
the
music
building
and
a
higher
melody
is
layered
into
the
opening
sequence
as
the
first
visual
shot
is
shown.
Diegetic
noise
of
birds
and
the
sea
is
heard
to
facilitate
the
calm
nature
of
Julia
Roberts
and
her
surroundings.
