Catch up week
Activity Time

Due to recent illnesses and Public holidays we will be using this time to catch up in
our number books.
There will be no new vocabulary this week in Activity Time, instead we will be
using this time to catch up in our phonics books and focus on letters and sounds
a, b and c.
In the phonics books the students will be learning to trace the letters correctly and
also associate these letters and their sounds with vocabularies such as a apple, b
ball and c cat.
Also in these books the students will learn to identify the correct letters and use
their lovely colouring in techniques to colour in the correct answers.
It is important the students learn to identify letters and build fluency with the
sounds. Learning to recognize letters is an integral part of most kindergarten
programs. The challenge is to keep students' interest while practicing until they are
fluent. These lesson meets that challenge using a variety of letters. Your child will
apply their knowledge of letters and letter sounds as they practice in their book
and interact with letters in Phonics activity review, using what they see and learn
to apply to their own ABC book.
