III. TEACHING EXPERIENCES

There are times that I feel frustrated because

of making lesson plans, making ppts, and preparing
my lessons, but seeing your students' beautiful
faces and smiles will surely make your day special. I
was shocked because I am a BEED student, so I
expected that I would be teaching only elementary
students. Still, unexpectedly, our mentor assigned
us to various grade levels such as Grade 9, Grade A. STUDENTS
10, Grade 4, Grade 2, and Grade 3. At first, I thought
that I could not make it; I honestly went into the
bridge of being depressed, but as time went by, I am
already attached to the students; I am inspired and
excited to see and teach them every day. They are so
competitive but in a good way, very participative and
most of all, very respectful. I have seen their
potentials and abilities and confirmed that CNU
serves such globally-competitive students. And of
course, us teaching interns are trained to be flexible
enough and become effective educators in the

I can say that one of my strengths in my

entire intern journey is my co-interns. They
helped me to survive and conquer my fears.
Although I never expected that we would become
close to each other, we used to video chat and
talk random things aside from making lesson
plans and ppt.
I am so grateful to them; they taught me
things that I did not know, they gave me life
advice that I never thought I needed, and they
inspired me to go out in my comfort zone and

INTERNS
Although there were hurdles, pressure and
stress, but above all, we helped each other and
made sure that no one was left behind, especially
in this time of crisis. The struggles of online
classes are way too hard to control, but as we
have learned, if someone does disconnect, we
must act quickly to help them and make sure that
our class will not be distracted.
C. THE MENTOR

Mr. Jiffy Cabarse, our beloved mentor, has

been an excellent mentor to us, who taught us
many things, not just how to become an effective
teacher but also how to fight for our dreams in
life. He has this very inspiring character that
drives us to continue doing. He always taught us
that everything that we do right now is the path of
our dream, that no matter the struggles we
encounter, we do not give up and continue to
fight. He also taught us to become effective
educators by creating appropriate lesson plans,
PowerPoint presentations, and healthy
relationships with our students. And lastly,
whenever we need his help, he will immediately

D. THE
ATTENDANCE

It is pretty new to me how our attendance

system was like this. First, it was challenging
because it is so hard to keep track of time when
you are in your house, so I need a total effort to
wake up to log in and log out. But in how many
months I have been doing this, I have observed
that something has changed in me; I am
becoming more productive than before, I am now
time-conscious, and I can say that I can wisely
manage my time. And lastly, I can say that this is
an excellent initiative because even though we
are not in an actual classroom set-up, we can still
feel the essence of our internship.
E. THE CLASSROOM

Google Classroom helps us, teachers, easily

keep our paperwork for all of our classes
organized. In this time of crisis, it is an effective
tool to assist the teachers and the students in a
more convenient and effective domain of
education. In my experience, it helped me
monitor my students' works, check their outputs
quickly, and not give me a hard time in
conducting classes.
In addition, Google Classroom helped me
become an innovative teacher because it trained
me to adopt and merge technology and
education. It will allow you to be flexible enough,
especially in teaching 21st-century learners.

F. BEST
DEMONSTRATION

I am so proud of myself because I have flat 1

in my teaching subjects: Values 9, Values 10, and
English 4 and, of course, I cannot achieve it
without the help of my teaching partners in these
subjects. I am so happy because I never expected
to have this kind of grade on my appraisal sheet,
and not to tell, I got it on the three subjects with
different grade levels. That is why I am so
inspired to do my best in demo teaching.
G. BEST VISUAL AID

In making my visual aids, I have to make sure

that it has a design that my students can relate
to, for example, designing it with popular Disney
shows or even having it a theme depending on
the lessons of the subject. In creating my visual
aids, I am very particular with it, and I want it to
be engaging and let my students have fun even
though they are just watching it. And lastly, in
every lesson that our teachers taught us in terms
of making visual aids for the students, I am proud
to say that I applied it successfully in all of my
teaching demos.

H. BEST LESSON
PLAN

In making lesson plans, I make sure that it

is well made. When my mentor gave us a 1.1 on
our appraisal sheet, I was shocked because I
never expected that grade, especially since I had
doubts about making it. I can say that I am so
proud of us because making lesson plans in
different grade levels is not an easy job. Indeed!
Efforts are paid off!
I. IN CAMPUS
JOURNEY

My in-campus journey was indeed a fantastic opportunity and

undeniably memorable. When reflecting on this semester of student
teaching, there have been so many challenges, celebrations, and so
much that I have learned. I have been pushed beyond my comfort
zone, and I have grown as a teacher immensely.
At first, I was very hesitant about my capability because of the
thought that maybe my mentor didn't like my performance or even
my students. So, I am hesitant that I cannot make it until the last, but
all of these fears are gone when our students are engaged in our
class, and our mentor likes our performance.
Every day, I was able to see the growth of my relationships
with my students from day to day over the semester. I was honestly
intimidated teaching different grade levels, gifted students coming
in, but I worked hard to break down their walls and get to know them
as individuals. I have loved getting to know each of my students'
likes, dislike, strengths, and weaknesses. This has helped me better
teach them and has made my classroom a happier place to learn!

J. REFLECTION

My entire teaching intern journey helped me to grow not just

as a future educator but also helped me to grow as an individual. I
was able to know and build a relationship with my co-interns, being
inspired by the stories of the life of our mentor and being attached to
my students.
Being assigned to different grade levels from elementary to
high school is quite challenging for me as a BEED student. Still, I
realized that it helped me become flexible and learn different
strategies for the students to learn best.
I’ve realized that our students learn best and are engaged
more when our visual aids are not dull and something that they can
relate. Also, in every discussion, valuing is very important because it
helps them apply the lesson to real life.
In my almost five months of being a teaching intern gave me a
lot of life lessons. It gave me inspirations to strive harder to achieve
my dream, and that is to become an effective educator. It gave me a
reason to keep fighting amidst the struggles that block my way. It
gave me a chance to improve my abilities and skills. And it molds me
into the person I want when I am still a 1st-year student. Thank you,
my Alma Matter, Cebu Normal University, for giving me a chance and
opportunity to grow and to become the best version of myself.
IV. TEACHING INNOVATIONS “Teaching through the use of
PowerPoint
A. Teaching Presentation and Video during
Innovations
Synchronous Class”

Teaching Online

The photos above show how the online class at Cebu Normal
University looks. I am delighted when my students like my visual aids,
primarily when they are engaged. I have also observed that the more your
visual aids are pleasing to their eyes, the more they will participate in your
class, so that is why, in every category, I had to make sure that my visual
aids are ready and are suitable for my students.
Moreover, in this new setup of education, we have to make sure that
we are ready; we have to make sure that we are flexible enough in giving
new learnings to our students even though it is not in an actual classroom
setup. Teaching online helped me become more efficient in delivering my
lessons to my students. Online learning has several tools such as videos,
PDFs, podcasts, and teachers can use all these tools as part of our lesson
plans. By extending the lesson plan beyond traditional textbooks to include
online resources, teachers can become more efficient educators.
