INTRODUCTION

Practice teaching is the highlight and most exciting part of a teaching

course.
It is a part of the experiential learning course of the new teacher
education curriculum which guide us prospective teachers the chance to
experience the life of actual teaching environment. The opportunities and
experience embedded in this course enable us to meet the challenges of the
real learning situation. The valid requirement made me prepare to cope with
the demands of the profession.
A teacher's portfolio is a compilation of work created by
student teacher. It is designed to show teacher's talents and constructed to
emphasize their knowledge and skills in teaching.
Portfolio is a document created by student teacher which reveals,
relates
and describes the teacher's duties, knowledge, proficiency and growth in
teaching.
It also offers opportunity for judging one's work and evaluating the
effectiveness of lesson.
Each contention was documented as reference and plays a vital rule in
the
over-all assessment of a teacher. In fact, some school uses portfolio's to
make personal decision and used it to improve more the traditional
assessment measures, such as standardized tests and observation checklist.
However, the use of this teacher's portfolio's is not universally
endorsed
due to its subjectivity in evaluating works and outputs of the pupil.

REFLECTION
Student teaching gives me unforgetable experience that I can't really forget. I

considered this as diamond that no one can steal due to its magnificent and value. It gives me also
a lifelong experience that even how many decades or whatever phenomenon occur, all the
moments and experienced I've encountered in the field of my student teaching will stay fresh in
my thoughts and perception.

Some challenges that I've encountered with were making of lesson plan, socializing and

coping up different attitudes of students and the many task or requirements given to us by our FS
teachers.

I remember all the feelings during the time of difficulties and hardships came to meat

that time that I almost gave up and quit because, tiredness, weariness and hopelessness. It really
tested myself whether this was really my fashion on career to be fulfilled with or not.

Providentially, I was able to surpass all those challenges due to my fortitude and with

the help, guidance, and assistance given to me by my supportive family, friends and my kind
cooperating teachers.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My teaching philosophy is rooted in my goal to effectively teach all
my students and instill in them a love of learning. I want my students to understand that learning
should take place not only in the continues of the classroom, but throughout their everyday lives. I
strive to help them become life-long learners and to size their own opportunities to gain
knowledge.
I am an educator who places a large emphasis on differentiation.
Understanding that each child is unique and that students learn in different ways. I believe it is
essential for educator to differentiate our lesson to better meet the needs of our students. This
can include scaffolding, preparing different lesson for students, and adopting whole group lessons
for diverse learner. I also support that building positive report with students is essential for trust
to be gained and thus, learning to thrive.
I continue to improve my own teaching by engaging in careful
reflections. This allows me to think critically about what works and what doesn't. Then, I am able
to adapt my own teaching to better meet the needs of my students.
I believe a good teacher must also understand motivation and the effects of
peer interactions on learning. I want all my students to achieve at high levels, so I avoid sorting
them and setting them up to compete with each other.
The good teachers must know her subjects and how to help students learn
those subjects. I know the good teachers must have a deep appreciation of how knowledge is
created in the discipline, how it is organized and how it is linked to other discipline. I use my
knowledge of the discipline to expose my students to modes of critical thinking, encouraging them
to analyze, apply, synthesize, and evaluate all they read and hear. I love the subject I teach, and I
know how to make them come alive for my students.
A good teacher cannot begin or continue to inspire without being a learner.
The good teacher must constantly learn what is new in the discipline.
I believe a teachers is the most powerful of role models. I am ever of the
awesome obligation I have to “walk my talk” with my students. If I ask them to live their values
and beliefs, I must do the same. I expect the best of myself and others. Therefore, I usually get the
best. I try to treat all people will dignity and respect, I expect my students to do so also.
Despite writing a teaching philosophy, I really prefer to think about learning
and helping others learn as opposed to teaching. I believe many of us have come to accept a
working definition that teaching means giving information. I believe many of us have come to
accept a working definition that teaching means giving information, which I believe is only a
beginning of teaching and certainly only a small part of learning. When one gives information, it is
so easy to equate, learning with the memorization of that information. Memorization is not
always learning because learning requires thinking. I am beginning to understand that the
teacher’s greatest gift to the learner is helping the learner be motivated to think, and then to want
to learn more.

FOCUSING ON STUDENT WELL-BEING IN TIMES OF CRISIS
AUTHOR: CATHLEEN BEACHBOARD
When the energence of COVID-19 pandemic one of its affected areas is
the field of education. The education has to be rotated into 360 degrees in order to cope
with the changes brought by the pandemic and the most vulnerable of this change in
education are the students. This abrupt changes triggers stress and fear in students this
fear primarily rooted from the problem of having no access to internet connections,
gadgets to use to cope with the new modality of learning as well as financial struggle.
Therefore, there is a call for teachers to support students safety and well-being in this
time of crisis using the three C's.
 COMMUNICATION: Mental health Check-In-before
proceeding to proper instruction, greet your students
with a question, ``How are you this past several
days/weeks?’’, and let them share their feelings/emotion
one-by-one and be ready to listen and give a place of
advice. This simple greeting can be a big help to release
and reduce their stress.
 CONSISTENCY: Schedules and Routines. Give your
students a schedules and routines that all of you has to
accomplished . Liked before class; greet everyone, share
your feelings for the day, share motivational lines/biblical
verses to the class. 1-minutes reflection time and etc.
 CONTROL: Self-Care-Plan. Ask student to list down things
that makes them feel better like listening to music,
exercise, coloring and etc. Let them make a plan as to
what they will do and how they will do it in order for
them to take control of their emotions in times of
distress. Ask them to check their plans from time to time
so it will keep them reminded of how they prevent
themselves from being consumed by emotional reactions.
As a teacher, it is also our duty that we help our students from emotional
problems, there should always be a balance between content and compassion. They will
learn best when they are at the finest state of their mind and heart.
