SocialErasmus Action Plan

July 2015 to July 2016

Introduction
During the first half of this year, the International SocialErasmus Team worked hard to rebrand the Project
in order to adapt to the Erasmus Student Networks continuous growth and the changes of the Erasmus+
programme.
Having been born from a reflection of both where the International Team found the Project and where
they wanted to go, SocialErasmus is now a Project that targets not only international students, but all
young citizens who are experiencing the great adventure of living abroad. With eight new causes that
describe what coordinators care about (Animals, Discrimination, Disasters, Education, Environment,
Health, Poverty and Violence), SocialErasmus activities are not only events with an impact on the local
community, but also anywhere in the world.
Thus, SocialErasmus was redefined as an international project by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) that
promotes a social attitude among young citizens participating in mobility programmes, to facilitate their
integration into the local community while giving them the chance to make a long-lasting social change in
society through volunteering activities. The Project goes under the slogan: Leave your mark!
Understanding that managing an ESN international project goes way beyond of promoting it across the
Network, the International SocialErasmus Team presents a strategic action plan focused on the
implementation, reputation and sustainability of the Project.

Action Plan and Implementation Timeline

Implementation of SocialErasmus
Due to its wide implementation by ESN sections, SocialErasmus has always faced the challenge of
maintaining the same level of quality among all the Network. Aware of this need and understanding that
SocialErasmus Coordinators are the key actors towards the success of the Project, the International
SocialErasmus Team proposes a set of actions to increase not only the quantity but also the quality of
SocialErasmus events on the local and national levels.

Reputation of SocialErasmus
The International SocialErasmus Team sees it as its responsibility to not only create editable promotional
materials that can be adapted by Coordinators, but also guides to support them in the promotion of the
Project.
Intending to work towards the recognition of volunteering as an added value for the mobility experience
through SocialErasmus, the International SocialErasmus Team will enhance the potential of the Erasmus
Student Network by supporting the International Board and Liaison Officers in the external representation
of SocialErasmus.

To show the importance of the Project to the Network and society, the International SocialErasmus Team
plans to create opportunities to bring together not only people already involved in it, but also those who
have not been engaged with the Project.
