Walk to School Wednesday
The last Walk From School Wednesday of the quarter is February 3rd! And, weve made some changes to make it
quicker and easier to participate! First, we will now have ASB students on both sides of American Ave. That way, if
you are walking to the trail, you can still use the new walking path and cross at the top of American Avenue. Second,
instead of signing on the clipboards, please fill out the Walk From School Wednesday slip ahead of time and just drop
it in the baskets. Now you can just drop your slip, and go! Slips will be available in your advisory class by Monday, 2/1.
Each grade level has their own color slip. And, if you forget, well have extra slips you can fill out, but it will save you
time to do it beforehand! See you next Wednesday! (1/26-2/3)
Student Government
Current 6th and 7th graders: Are you interested in making a difference on campus? Do you want to have a say in the
activities we do? Do you want to be in ASB next year? If so, you should run for student government! By being elected
President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer, you will automatically be in ASB next year! If you want to run, you
MUST attend a mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday, February 9th at Lunch A or B in room 3. You cannot run
if you do not attend this meeting. Please see Mrs. Thornhill in room 3 with any questions (1/25-2/9)
6th Graders Six Flags Ticket
6th Graders (only)! The deadline is approaching to complete the Six Flags Reading Log to get your free ticket. Be sure
to turn your log in to your Advisory teacher or the library BY February 11th. Tickets will be distributed the last two
weeks of school. All textbooks and library books must be turned in to receive your ticket.
Snack Hut
The snack hut is open every Thursday after school! Stop by for a snack on your way home! (all quarter)

Traffic Relief
We are proposing a new walking route for students who use the path between the Deer Ridge development and
American Avenue. We ask those students to use the crosswalk at the very end of American Avenue by the baseball
field to cross the street. Using this crosswalk will not impede traffic flow and will both increase student safety and
provide some much needed traffic relief at the top of the hill before and after school.
Working Lunch Program
If you are a student who does not regularly complete classwork or homework, our Student Study Team may be
assigning a working lunch for you. Starting Monday, January 11, we will hold a daily working lunch for assigned
students, where they will eat lunch and finish class assignments at the same time. When these students demonstrate
they no longer need this added layer of support, we will exit them from the program.
Library at Lunch
Procedure Reminder: The Library is a open during both A & B lunches for students to complete their homework,
read, or play board games (quietly as the opposite lunch may have test-takers in there). Students are required to go
to lunch at the lunch tables first, then get a pass to come to the library from one of the ladies on Yard Duty. No
exceptions.
Support our Troops!
8th grader Brandon Larsen is currently working to complete his Eagle Scout project and his goal is to collect 3,000
snacks and 1,000 pairs of socks to send to our military members stationed overseas. We want to help him reach his
goal! Bring in your donations the week of January 25-29 to advisory. For each item you bring, youll get a raffle ticket
that you can turn in for a chance to get a CHIPOTLE BURRITO for lunch! Thats right, well pick 20 raffle tickets and all
20 students will get a Chipotle burrito for lunch! Please bring ONLY the following items. Other donations will not be
accepted. Please note: 1 package = 1 raffle ticket, regardless of how many individual items are in the package. Tickets
