You might be aware that the erstwhile B. E. College / Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU), Shibpur
has recently been upgraded to Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST),
Shibpur and also been conferred with the status of Institute of National Importance through enactment in the
Parliament of India.
The 158 years old Institution, as a pioneer in engineering education in the country, has the tradition of providing
