Quitplan.com for its free service to make aware people or Cigarette smokers
to quit smoking & to help environment from pollution & to help all parties
from the bad effect of smoking).
The Web Site of Quitplan.com highlights the statement-“a better way to quit
smoking”

01. Who is the target market? How do you know?
The target market of this ad is smokers of all age group & socially aware
group who is concern about the bad effect of smoking. This ad is specially
targeted at smokers who wants to quit smoking but don’t know the better
way to quit smoking.
This is clear from the picture of Quitplan.com billboard which is smashing
down a cigarette.

02. What is the main message of the ad (positioning)?


The main message of the ad is to tell the target market that Quitplan.com is a
site for helping people to quit smoking in a better way. It also gives a clear
message to the target market about the dangers of smoking & their free
service system to quit smoking which will make the environment & the
society pollution free.

03. Is the ad in the right medium given the target market? Why?
This giant billboard poster ad is very effective in drawing the attention of the
target market & generating awareness. In addition this medium of
advertising is cost effective in delivering the message as it is mentioned
earlier that the website is a free service giving website. Although outdoor
posters have got relatively low reach but in this situation it is a good medium
for this kind of ad.

04. What design elements have they used to get the target markets
attention?
The ad is not like the traditional billboard ad & the outlook of the ad is very
different than any other outdoor poster ad. The main design element used in
the ad is that the quitplan.com is smashing down a cigarette which grabs the
attention of target market & creates an interest in them.
Curious name “Quitplan” helps to draw the attention of the target market &
make them more curious to visit the website.
The untraditional look of the billboard with the contrast of green & black
resembling the freshness & the smashing down of a cigarette & the balance
between left & right sides & the untraditional form makes the ad more
appealing & curious about the website.

05. Are the visual clear?


It is a structure based outdoor billboard ad which makes the viewer curious
& yes the outlook & visual is clear. The placement of a cigarette as a pillar
of the board which having a smash look & the use color medium makes the
ad different than other traditional billboard advertising.

06. Is the ad easy to understand?


Yes, it is easy to understand because viewers can interpret the inner meaning
of the ad from the catchy outlook of the billboard. This outstanding
illustration of the main message depicts a clear thought about giving up the
habit of smoking.

07. Is there effective branding?


Yes, there’s highly effective branding in the ad as it focuses only on the
name of the website. With the contrast effect of green & black resembling
the freshness & the smashing down of a cigarette & the balance between left
& right sides & the untraditional form makes the ad more appealing &
curious about the website.

08. Is the ad memorable? Why?


Yes, the ad is memorable as the placement of a cigarette as pillar which is
being smashed by the power of Quitplan.com service & the catchy name
“Quitplan” helps to draw attention of the target market & make them curious
to understand the naming & lead them to visit the website in details.

09. Do you think this ad is effective? Why or why not?


The ad is effective because it draws the attention of the target market in a
untraditional way. It makes them curious by focusing on the name of the
website. And the symbolic representation of this ad makes a clear sense
about quitting smoking which is the ultimate intention.
But we also found some lacking in this ad. It focuses only in the structure
rather than headline, positioning statement and any detail activities of their
way of helping people.
