Philosophy of Education

I believe that knowledge is a priceless gift that should be accessible to everyone. I want
to provide my students with a learning environment that values each student and gives each
student equal access to knowledge. I am going to strive to reach all of my students. I believe that
all students can learn and it is my job to guide my students toward higher learning. I am
passionate and care about creating a learning environment that is positive and motivates children
to work to the best of their abilities. I believe that students perform best when they know that
people believe that they are fully capable. A positive learning environment starts with the teacher
and I know that it is my job to let each of my students know that I truly care about them and
believe that they can learn.

I am very laidback and I want my classroom to be open to teachable moments and fun
activities. I believe that so much of what individuals learn is through relationships and working
with others. I think that it is important for students to work in groups and social atmospheres in
my classroom because it will prepare them to be active participants in society. As a teacher I
promise to value and respect all of my students providing an example to how my students should
treat one another. My classroom will be one that is built on encouragement and group dynamics.

I believe that learning should not just be confined to the classroom. I think that learning is
an active activity and I am going to encourage my students to take every opportunity that they
can to learn. I want my students to know that learning is a part of life and it should never end. I
think that outside projects, outside activities, and field trips are very important for students
because it allows them to learn in non formal and active ways. I will do my best to make school
fun and enjoyable for my students by offering creative ways to learn. I want my students to feel
free to express themselves through journaling, art, critical thinking, group work, and current
events.

My ultimate goal as a teacher is to instill a love for learning in my students. I am very

driven and I believe that I can create a classroom that values learning. I believe that if I keep a
positive attitude in the classroom my students will seek optimism as well. I am committed to
providing energy in the classroom. I believe that it is contagious and I want to create a classroom
environment that fosters my students’ passions and interests. I desire to impact lives and make a
difference in the way that students view learning.

I am very organized and I will definitely implement this skill in my classroom. I will help
my students to become fully equipped to be successful in the classroom. I will make sure that
they are fully aware of my expectations and all of the assignments. I will implement technology
in the classroom to aid in student learning. Finally, I will teach my students organization skills as
well so that they can carry them out throughout the year and later in life.
