Open Access is here! Are you ready?

On 1 April 2016 the new Open Access Policy for the next Research
Excellence Framework (REF) comes into force, building on existing
funder policies. The REF OA policy requires that you deposit your
peer-reviewed manuscripts in PURE as soon after acceptance as
possible: Act on Acceptance: Deposit in Pure. Read more on our
blog. Your University Library can help with this process:

Digital Collections revamped!

The project to build St Andrews Digital Collections began in 2013 and we now
hold almost 300 items, all of which are either unique or of special significance
to St Andrews. Over the past few months weve made several improvements to
the site to make it easier for you to discover, navigate and to explore the
contents of the objects in the collections. Expect further developments in the
coming months! Find out more on the Library blog.

New access to Latin Dictionary

The Dictionary of Medieval Latin from British Sources was the first ever
dictionary to focus on British Latin, covering the language from 6th century to
16th it was completed in print in 2013. We have recently purchased an online
version of the dictionary which will be of interest to medievalists and allows
for much faster searching and retrieval. You can access the dictionary from our
A-Z list of databases.

Franki Raffles archive

Dr Alistair Scott from Edinburgh Napier University recently discussed the
launch of the Franki Raffles Archive website www.frankirafflesarchive.org in a
guest blog post for us. Franki Raffles was, as Dr Scott explains in the post: "a
feminist social documentary photographer" and a St Andrews graduate.
Materials archived include photographic prints, negatives and notebooks,
which were deposited in our Special Collections and are in the process of being
digitising and catalogued. See the photographic collection for details.
