Top service gyratory crusher

Top Service (TS) gyratory crushers

FLSmidths legacy of quality crushers

dates back to the Traylor and FullerTraylor gyratory crushers of the early
1900s. FLSmidth crushers have
continuously withstood the harshest
requirements found in the worlds
mines and rock quarries. Through
constant and continual improvements
in engineering to meet customer
needs, FLSmidth is a proven and
preferred crusher supplier throughout
the industry.
The Top Service (TS) gyratory crusher
is the latest generation of gyratory
crusher offered by FLSmidth. This
entire crusher is engineered from the
ground up, focusing on safety,
maintenance and functionality.
The TS gyratory crusher is
distinguished from other gyratory
crushers by its revolutionary design
which allows major service and
maintenance functions to be safely
performed. The eccentric assembly,
bushings and hydraulic piston are
easily accessible and removed through
the top of the crusher, hence the
name Top Service. The Top Service
feature greatly simplifies safety
procedures, reduces costs and helps
to increase availability for the
equipment over more traditional
bottom service crushers.

Design

Using todays most modern analysis

techniques, FLSmidths TS gyratory
crushers are structurally sound from
the inside out. With the Top Service
design, FLSmidth not only
concentrated on providing a crusher
that was durable, but also flexible
enough to meet the various
requirements of our customers.
The Top Service line has two
variations available, depending on the
application and customer
requirements. FLSmidth offers its
Heavy Duty (TS) for the bulk of the
mining applications but also has
available its Ultra Duty (TSU) model
that is specifically designed for
extreme applications where extra
motor power and heavier sections are
a necessity.
Within its Top Service line, FLSmidth
can offer customers process design
flexibility after installation. In specific
applications, the TSU model with its
larger motor and heavier components
is capable of accommodating higher
throughputs and/or larger reduction.

1. The bar-type spiders 4-bolt

design reduces the amount of
time required to remove and its
slim design reduces the overall
amount of space necessary
during maintenance.
2. Spiral bevel gearing allows for
larger installed power on the
crushers.
3. The countershaft assembly is
rotatable to allow for fine
adjusting of gear mesh during
installation and includes
self-adjusting bearings that do
not require maintenance of
pre-load.
4. Top serviceable eccentric and
hydraulic piston are faster,
more efficient, and safer than a
traditional bottom service
gyratory crusher.
5. Threadless mainshaft design
improves strength by minimizing
peak stresses during demanding
crushing operations.
6. FLSmidth designs custom
chamber profiles for each
application and customer
requirements.

The TS design also allows for a more

cost effective and flexible layout of
the crushing station. The traditional
service cart can be replaced by a
simple access way for inspection and
service of the discharge bin, reducing
capital costs and lowering total
height of the structure.

7. Integral mainshaft lifting eye

ensures that it is never
misplaced.
8. Grease spider lubrication is
simpler than an oil lubrication
and easier to maintain.
9. Bronze spider bushing
provides improved life and better
impact resistance than a cast iron
spider bushing.
10. Top shell wear plates are
designed to be easily replaceable,
better fit and faster dump pocket
clean-out.
11. Pressurized dust seal minimizes
particle ingress and ensures that
oil stays clean of contaminations.
12. Bottom shell view ports allow
maintenance personnel to view
crusher shell liners and check for
wear.
13. FLSmidth utilizes identical oil in
both its hydraulic and
lubrication systems ensuring
that if cross-contamination
occurs there is no need to flush
out the system.

The Top Service features multiple

counterbalancing options for mobile
and semi-mobile applications which
reduce out of balance forces and result
in a cost savings from use of less
building materials.
