Dear all,
This week our Y6 pupils have taken the
SATs. This year the tests have been
much harder to match the raised
expectation in the 2014 National
Curriculum. The children have worked
incredibly hard all year, but this week in
particular. Well done Y6!
Congratulations to Ms. Gill and the
Broad Oak Broncos who won the S&W
Schools Cheer/Dance Competition at
Wthenshawe Forum last week.
Special thanks also this week to Y4 who
opened the Six Country Caf on Friday
6th May. It was a joy to see the children
working as a team and providing what
can only be described as an exceptional
dining experience. Thank you to all of
the staff who worked so hard to make
the day possible.

BROAD OAK BRONCOS

On Thursday 5th May, our cheerleading squad 'The Broad Oak Broncos', took part
in a competition held by the Wythenshawe and South Manchester Movement
Initiative at Wythenshawe Forum.
We were overjoyed when they were announced winners of their category. Along
with this win comes the honour of performing at the opening ceremony of the
School Games in July in front of 1800 people !
Well done Broncos, we are all extremely proud of you :) !

I would like to remind everyone that

next week is Walk To School Week.
You can find more detailed information
and a map of potential walking routes
as part of this newsletter.

ATTENDANCE - Holidays In Term Time

Best wishes,
Kevin Corteen.

Year 2 SATs will start the week beginning Monday 16th May and will continue on
for the remainder of the month. We will be starting promptly in the mornings, so we
would appreciate it if all children were in school on time. The children are already
aware, however our approach is to keep the SATs as 'low key' as possible.
Thank you in advance for your support. Year 2 Staff

CLASS ASSEMBLY
Class 2J assembly has been cancelled
on 25th May, and will now be on
Thursday 16th June.

Reminder to parents holiday absence during term time cannot be authorised. It may
result in a Penalty Notice issued from the Local Authority.

DEAR YEAR 2 PARENTS/ CARERS

ANGLO-SAXON & VIKING WORKSHOP

Year 3 went to Tatton Park for their Anglo-Saxon and Viking workshop. They learnt
how to defend themselves with a shield wall.

Reception have been visiting Bridge

Farm.
We spent time learning how to look
after Leo the pony.

Brave and fearless 3S warriors, poised for

battle with their Anglo-Saxon shields.

SIX COUNTRY CAFE

On Friday 6th May 2016 Year 4 opened their 'Six Country Cafe'
serving a fantastic 3 course lunch to over 100 paying customers.
All of the children were assigned different roles and they all worked
hard to make sure that each and every guest felt welcomed and
special! All proceeds from the event went to the Teenage Cancer
Trust and we are very proud to announce that the children raised
366.80 for this amazing charity.
Well done to all of the Year 4 children!
